I wasn't sure what type of dinner my mom was making me attend. But she had said I needed to wear something "presentable" so I went through my whole closet trying to find a dress that was decent.

I settled on a burgundy dress that had lace going from the chest of it all the way to the neck. With that I paired some beige colored heels.

I did my makeup putting on my favorite red lip, and I left my hair in its place. I wasn't about to go overboard for my mother.

She didn't deserve that, not from me.

I shouldn't even be going to this dinner. Why should I care to go after everything?

But I wanted to keep some peace between my mother and I until I figured out what I'd do without her.

So I sucked up my pride, and dressed into some fancy clothing.

"Zaina?" My mom sang, knocking on my door. "Come in!" I yell, looking at the full length mirror at myself. I actually really liked what I wore.

"I like it. The red lipstick is so gorgeous. You just have that face that goes with anything red." My mother says, smiling at she positioned my hair the way she wanted it.

"What is this dinner for anyway?" I ask. She smiles. "We'll be meeting Christians best friend I guess. He'll be Christians best man when we get married." She smiles. "And I expect only the best behavior from you." She points out, glancing at me to look at my reaction.

"But of course." I mutter sarcastically.

"Are you ladies ready?" Christian asks, slightly knocking on my bedroom door that was half open.

He wore his usual suit, but this time he wore a tie that matched the exact color of my dress. It suited him, and I also found it odd that we'd both choose to wore the same color tonight.

Obviously just a huge coincidence, but still.

Neither him or my mom seemed to notice tho.

"Yes. You look good Christian, per usual." My mom says, giving him one of her famous flirtatious smiles. One that I've noticed she's been using a lot around Christian. "Oh wait! I forgot my phone, I'll meet you two outside." My mom hurries last Christian, out of my room." I grab my small clutch off my bed, turning to him.

"Shall we?" I ask, motioning for us to walk out the door.

"Ladies first." He motions me first. I walk out before him, he shuts my bedroom door as well as turning off my bedroom light.

We walk downstairs and out the front door where the car was waiting for us.

He opened the door for me and as I was getting in, I can hear him whisper, "you look so beautiful tonight.." his hot breath fanned the back of my neck, making me shiver.

I get inside the car with a gulp.

He was just complimenting you Zaina.

I reassure myself, taking in a deep breath as he took a seat next to me in the limo he probably rented basically everyday.

Why we didn't take our own car? Or his usual driver? I have no clue. Guess it's a rich thing.

"Thank you." I whisper to him, giving him a slight smile before looking out the window.

"Sorry, I found it! We can go." My mom says, getting in the car and taking a seat next to Christian.

I take in a deep breath, trying to control my sudden nerves. I hoped this night would go by fast.

We arrived at the fancy restaurant. I had expected it to be fancy.

Christian seemed to only like fancy stuff. But I'd be the same way if I were a high class rich man.

We got into the restaurant. A huge chandelier was above us as we walked in, the place was way prettier then the last fancy restaurant he had taken us to.

I was actually wowed by the decorations and the atmosphere of this place.

But as we walked to our private table in the back, I did feel as if I really didn't fit in.

People glanced at me and I swear they could tell my dress, although so pretty in my opinion, was only forty bucks.

We got to our table where a nice looking man sat. He stood up when he saw us.

"Ah Christian!" He took Christian into a hug as soon as he saw him.

The man wore a black suit as well, but his jeans were a dark navy colored and his shoes were tan. His hair was a dirty blond color, and his eyes were bright blue. His voice held a heavy British accent.

He was very attractive, I can say that much already. Although I couldn't help but notice that I found Christian way more attractive then him.

Like he's at a 7 and Christians at a 10. Just saying, though I feel like I shouldn't be.

"Who are these two lovely ladies?" The man asks, turning to my mom and I.

"This is Eva, my beautiful future wife," He says, referring to my mom.

"Eva, this is Alexander." I watch as my mom shakes his hand, giving him a polite smile. "I've heard a lot about you Alexander, nice to put a face to the name." She says making him laugh. "I hope it isn't a disappointment." He laughs.

"And this is Zaina, her daughter." Christian puts his hand on the hem of my back and bringing my forward to meet Alexander. "Nice to meet you." I go to shake his hand but instead of shaking it, he grabs it, placing it to his lips. "Lovely to meet you." He places a kiss on my hand.

My cheeks felt like they were on fire, I was probably as red as a tomato from blushing.

I giggled slightly out of nervousness.

"Well shall we take a seat?" He lets go of my hand, walking towards the table and pulling out a chair for me to sit down in.

I take a seat, suddenly feeling uneasy for some unknown reason.

Maybe because he was very attractive nonetheless, and I couldn't help but feel nervous.

He resumed his seat next to me and surprisingly, Christian took a seat on the other side of me.

"Well when's the wedding? I was surprised to hear you were engaged, let alone seeing anyone?" Alexander asks Christian. "It came to a surprise to me as well. But I guess once you know you've found the right person, you just want to take the next step." Christian laughs slightly.

"We'll have the wedding before the end of the year." My mom says, answering Alexander's question. "Sounds good, shall we toast? I hope you guys don't mind I ordered my favorite white wine. But of course if you don't like this kind we can order something else?" Alexander asks as the waiter poured everyone a glass of wine.

"This should be just fine." Christian says reassuringly, grabbing his glass.

"Well then, to marriage?" Alexander asks, raising his glass. "To marriage." We all day in usion, clicking our glasses together before drinking the wine.

I wasn't surprised that I liked the wine. I found that any alcoholic drink in this time in my life, hits the spot.
