Misty looks up in the sky with her flower dress and pearl necklace. Her orange hair is put into a high ponytail on the side. Her sea-green eyes look around her surroundings and she takes a deep breath. Her dress flies behind her as the wind hits her face gently. Her barefoot walk on earth as the daisies of yellow, blue, and pink sway in the field. Nothing can be better than the feeling to be free. She spread her arms wide open and spun around.

It has been a few years since Princess Misty dies and the new Misty comes. She feels even freer and less stress. As a princess, she knows when to stop and admit defeat. Thanks to her friends, she had what she has today, a field of daisies to honor her family and a little house she always wanted. Jessie had given birth to a cute boy, Jamie while Lucy and Brock have a girl, Lilly. They had left Misty after Misty decided to be dependent and have her own little home. She hasn't gone back to her old home since the day she left. Misty lives in a little yellow house with a red roof in the countryside. She had a little farm for pokemons and a field for crops, plants, herbs, and flowers.

"Hello, Misty. How are the plants going?" May asked as she walked up from behind Misty. Misty turns to her friend and smiles.

May had given birth to three beautiful children, Rose, Fern, and Morfia. They all have Drew's green eyes, except Morfia, who have a mix of green and blue. They would visit Misty sometimes during the summer. They are all little troubles that are just too cute to ignore. Misty was there when May was delivering the children and she can't be happier. After all, Misty was the children's godmother.

"Hi, May. How is everything going for you and your family? I miss you a lot. The plants are all healthy," Misty replies as she picks up a bright yellow daisy.

"Everything is fine. The children would love to see you again. As long as a certain knucklehead. He misses you, you know? Why don't you accept it?" May asked. Misty just looks away.

May had tried to bring the topic up multiple times and so far no progress. Ever since Ash helped Misty to escape the kingdom, Misty had been distant and never dared to cross the friendship line. Misty just works to reach her goal and declines any help. Ash was missing Misty and wishes to be a little more than friends with Misty but she turned all down whenever mentioned. May knows the situation. She had been through the situation before too with Drew. She knows she loves Drew but was afraid to admit it and now it goes the same with Misty. May knows Misty likes Ash but was scared of rejection. May sighs mentally as she looks at Misty in a smile.

"How about you come to the castle tonight? The children miss you. Everyone did. It is their birthday today. At least it made them happy," May said as she looked at Misty. She knows that Misty will never decline a favor if it is related to the children.

"I will think about it," Misty replies.

"Oh, come on! The children miss you! You have to visit them sometime!" May exclaimed. "They will be so sad when they figure out that you did not come for their birthday. Every year, they come to you. There was never a time that you came to them. Surprise them and make them happy for today at least!"

Misty sighed and smiled at May. "Okay. I will. But only this once okay? For the children," Misty said. She knows that she can never decline what May said if it involves the children. She loves them like they are her own children.

"That is great! Let's go! We need to be there on time and Dawn can help you dress up! Thank you so much for accepting!" May exclaimed as she smiles from ear to ear and pulls Misty's after her.

When they arrived at the Lightning Kingdom, everything was the same as how Misty remembered. There is still a beautiful garden and a fountain. Everything was neatly decorated with riches but not too overwhelming. It is as if nothing changes over time when Misty left. May smiles at Misty's reaction and pulls her to her room in the kingdom when she was a maid. Misty looked around surprised that everything is how she left it and how everything she left was still there. Misty smiles sadly at the memory.

"Ash doesn't want the maids to clean the room, Misty. He wants it ready for you when you return. He really misses you, you know," May said softly.

"I understand, May. I just... I just don't want to feel lonely again anymore. I don't want bad things to happen to people. You see what happened," Misty said.

"I understand you, Misty. But sometimes, it's good to let someone enter your life," May replies.

"I am just scared May," Misty said sadly.

"If you are scared, then let me protect you," a voice that Misty longed for so long said.

Misty quickly turned around. Her eyes meet with ruby ones. Misty's eyes grew wider and she gasped, never breaking the contact. Standing in May's place is Ash, the one that she wants to avoid as much as possible. Misty started to feel nervous and soon, everything about her is important.

"How long have you been planning to avoid me, Misty? It had been like five years already. Wasn't it long enough?" Ash asked, going straight to the topic.

"I am sorry, Ash," Misty whispers as she looks away and breaks eye contact.

"Sorry for the five-year wait to sorry that you are avoiding me, Misty? I had been waiting for you all these years," Ash said while whispering the last part to himself.

"I told you, Ash. I have my reasons," Misty said.

"Look Misty. I can't stay and wait forever. Soon I have to get married, whether I like it or not. I don't have much time left, Misty," Ash started.

"Look, Ash..." Misty started.

"I don't know what you are planning but this will be the last time I asked you. I can't just chase you around while you always rejected me. I don't want to see you sad, Misty," Ash interrupted, didn't hear that Misty starts talking.

"I don't want to avoid you, Ash. I had lost so much already. I can't let someone else get killed or injured because of me," Misty said.

"Then let me become your knight to protect you! You don't have to do everything alone!" Ash argued.

This time, Misty's eyes begin to water with tears but it never comes. "I don't want to be lonely again. People say that they will protect me but they always left me. Like Father, Daisy, Lilly, and Violet. I can't rely on anyone," Misty said softly.

"Then let me take part in it. If both of us left it together, we could do it. You don't have to be alone anymore," Ash whispers as he walks over to Misty and hugs her. Misty returns the hug slowly.

"Let me be your knight," Ash whispers into Misty's ear and this time Misty nodded.
