(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
I sighed as I wandered back to Ray's room. He had ditched me... Ignored me completely. He barely acknowledged me.
I understood he was busy.... But..... No, stop thinking that way. Ray is just busy at the moment. As soon as he's done with that girl he'll come back.
Nothing will change. After all, I am still Ray's princess.
I opened the door to Ray's room and plopped down onto the bed. Though I understood why he had ignored me it hurt me for some reason.
It felt as if my heart was clawing at my chest. Like a 100-pound weight had been placed on my chest. Like how it did when I was on the streets...
alone.
I sighed and shook the thoughts out of my head. Everything is okay.
Nothing will change.
I told myself once again as I stared up at the white ceiling.
Everything will be okay...
It had been almost 25 minutes since Ray had shooed me away and there was no sign of him. Nothing.
Where is he? All he had to do was show her to her room. That's it... It shouldn't be taking this--
My thought was cut off as soon as I heard the door open. I immediately sat up, "Hi Ray!" I said with a big smile. As soon as I saw him the tightness in my chest unraveled itself. He took a deep breath and sighed, plopping down in one of the magenta chairs that were placed in his large room. "You okay?" I asked.
"Hmm?" he asked. His voice sounded tired, but there was a strange liveliness to his voice. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine."
"Did everything go okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, everything went really smoothly. She listened to everything I said. She didn't doubt me once!" he looked at me, his lips were curled into a smile.
That smile that made my heart flutter,
that made my face grow warm,
was for some reason
doing the opposite.
He's smiling... He never smiles... Why is he smiling?
Instead of my heart fluttering and my face becoming warm the pain in my chest returned. That 100-pound weight returned and my heart began to claw at my rib cage. I felt my smile begin to fade.
"you seem really happy," I said forcing myself to smile again
"It's nice to have someone who I just meet trust me so much," he said as he turned back around to face the flower pot that he kept on the small table.
I trusted you... I trusted you from the start... From the day you saved me... I trusted you.
"And she does whatever I say."
I do whatever you say....
"Plus, she's super positive."
I try to stay positive...
"I hope I can get to know her better."
I swallowed the lump that was forming in my throat. "I... I'm sure you will..." I said, my voice beginning to waver.
"She sounds like a really... Really nice person."
"She is!" he looked at me again, but this time he was smiling ear to ear.
In the four years, I knew Ray I could never get him to smile that brightly, but this person could make him smile like this in a matter of minutes?
