Tea Parties & Coat Hangers

"Thank you again for coming over." She said to you, setting her teacup down on its saucer, the gentle click of delicate china on china finishing her words.

Placing both on the tray in front of her in the centre of the table, you did the same, she stood and patted down her skirt.

You tell her it's always a pleasure to visit, thanking her for her courtesy.

You see a tint to her cheeks and can't help but smile, to which she returns with delight.

"Get home safe, okay?"

"Okay, I promise."

She walks you to the door, giving you a last hug before your hand reaches for the handle and gently pushes it open.

"...Make sure to call when you get there."

She mumbles, and your heart skips a beat. She always asks her brother of the same whenever he travels.

"Of course I will."

She looks reassured, happy almost.

You two waved goodbyes, a few more words back and forth spoken before you left, clicking the door closed behind you.

It feels chillier out than you remember, but that's fine, you did stay quite a while after all, nightfall was almost upon you.

As Lili hears your steps growing further and further away, her demeanour soon drops.

She turns, smiling as she sees your coat still on the hanger by the door. She finds it odd how you forgot, even with it just there, but she supposes that's how the world works sometimes.

The world works marvellous miracles.

Carefully she unhooks it, holding it in her hands, eyes glinting as she studied over the article, imagining you wearing it in front of her right now.

Your coat.

Your coat.

Your coat.

It rings in her head a thousand times, though she still cannot believe it.

Holding it up to her cheek, she gently nuzzles the fabric, taking in a deep breath and soon exhaling with a contented sigh.

It smelt just like you.

Giggles filled the serene silence of the home, giggles of glee and giggles of joy and giggles of undying love.

She rushed to her bed room, pushing open the door and leaving it like that as she skipped over to a mirror.

Standing in front of it, she held the coat out to look at it and admire once more.

She slipped her arms through the sleeves, then buttoning it at the front. It took a few seconds before she was ready to look at her reflection, but when she did, oh my, she had never felt better.

She twirled and hopped and spun in your coat, hugging herself and breathing in your sickening sweet scent, letting it overcome and cloud her mind.

Another beautiful thing of yours to add to her collection.

Taking a hanger from her wardrobe, eventually prying the jacket off of herself, she took it to her side room.

With delight, she hung up your coat on one of the many hooks in the wall, joining the rest of her beautiful pieces of you.

The room was small, convenient, where a walk in wardrobe might be, but Lili had no need for such a thing.

But this... she did need.

Now joining her collection of items of which she may or may not have stolen from you, was the coat you left behind this evening.

It filled her with delight.

Soon, the only thing she'd have left to add to her array of you, would be you yourself.

She couldn't wait until then.
