"No. I hate you," she muttered, though the words rolling off the tip of her tongue were sour like spoiled milk. She shivered, her hands grasping her upper arms to hug herself, like the thought of him leaving her was a distasteful decision. The worst.

"No you don't," he said softly. "Why? Why are you trying so hard to keep me away from you?" He was confused as of why she was treating herself so poorly. Why she was thought of as a monster to the world.

"I'm only protecting you. You don't to want to be near me." She rolled her eyes, her mood changing quickly from sad to angry. She was a monster, a disgrace and dangerous. Most people ran after meeting her, they saw through her and saw all the bad she had done. Like she was a glass wall. She was easy to read, and she hated that.

"There's nothing that could be so bad to the point where I run away from you." He was confident, he was so sure. The girl trusted him, she told him everything.

"Noah, I'm in the Mafia."

The boy that she trusted left. From then on, she never trusted anyone ever again. Until he came around. That one person changed everything. That One Day.
