under her feet.
Alert are her senses,
eyes darting on repeat.
Crunch, go the dried leaves
as they scatter and dance.
Alarm, what was that?

as they wrap around her ankles.
Gasp, she tries to fill her lungs
they feel crushingly strangled.
Thud, goes her body
as it connects with the ground.
Silence, only silence,
as she disappears never to be found.
