Wow , finally my baby girl is all grown up
Hannah said , Hannah was the 40 year old mother of Abigail , after being childless for over ten years , she had her first and only child . She remembered how she suffered emotional and physical abuse from her husband Kane who was a drunk and a truck driver . Despite the fact that other people advised her to leave him , she couldn't because she was scared and being someone raised in a Christian home in eastern Nigeria , she didn't want to go against the values and culture of her people , so she continued to stay in the relationship till Kane died of cancer three years ago , since then she has been the only one taking care of their sixteen years old daughter . As a strong woman , she didn't want to ask her friends and family members for help but determined to raise her young child all by herself .
Looking at her young daughter who was about to leave home for the university she couldn't have been more proud
Mum, can you please stop crying and making it seem as if I'm going away forever ?
Abigail told her mum
Oh dear child , you can't understand , it seems like yesterday when you were still little and then I'll carry you in my arms , sing lullaby to make you sleep , oh how I cherish those memories
Ooooh , mum I love you too , I promise to be a wonderful girl in school , I won't disappoint you and I will always make you proud , she replied her mum with all honesty
Hannah was satisfied she knew her daughter well enough but what she didn't know was that there was another girl behind the mask
