The Tolling Bell

Dong,

Dong,

Dong.

The bell tolls.

My eyes have seen,
My ears have heard,
My feet have felt the shaking of the ground,
When the bell tolls.

When the bell tolls,
So strong and clear
It used to bring me comfort.
That it, oh so consistent, would be always the same.
That something in this world wouldn't change.
It gave me hope.

But, now.
Now, I understand.
Now I hate that bell.
Now I mourn every time I hear it's call.

For now I know,
That when the bell tolls.....
A new soul has come to it's end.

So now, when I hear the tolling of the bell,
I am reminded of the sorrow that surrounds us,
Never leaving,
Never relenting.

So, please, stay away from the bell.
Away, away, as far as you can.
For when you hear it,
Your own death it sure to soon come.

I have heard it all my life.
The tolling of the bell.
And ever since I came to know
What it really meant,
I have been here.

On my death bed.

The bell will on day toll for me,
And call out to my soul,
The end, the end, the end is here.

Dong,

Dong,

Dong.
