I knew she wasn't going to stay
She knew I couldn't handle dismay.
I knew that she was going to die
She knew that I hated to cry
But for such reasons I chose my emotions over her own.
And for such reasons she missed me to the bone.
And though every moment with her was bliss
I knew that I planted my seeds of love amiss.

She sat by the docks of Konoha, gazing upon the vast ocean. She enjoyed the rain, knowing that she could make her tears seem like an illusion of the rain. Her father made his opinion clear, and knowing him there was no changing his mind. He had also instructed her to keep her illness a secret. Her future husband wasn't to know that his fiancée was dying before he had even gotten the chance to meet her.

She couldn't control a single thing in her life; not her marriage, or her position in the Hyuga clan (given to her younger brother over her, despite her being more skilled). She was always a pawn, and thought that her fate was sealed to be just that. Until the day she met a southern gentleman.

"Are you alright? You don't seem too good," a voice queried from behind her. Her head snapped around and slowly an image appeared in her field of view. A kind face, long dark brown (just a few shades away from black) hair and almond eyes.

"Huh?" Was all she could muster, getting a warm chuckle out of the man.

"Would you like me to take you home?" Y/N nodded weakly and the man hoisted her up and directed her towards the Hyuga main house.

"You really shouldn't stay out in the rain. You'll only get really sick." She nodded and smiled at him but mentally signed at his statement.

"How could I get any worse than I already am? Hell, I won't be surprised if I drop dead in your arms... And yet my father still wants to use me knowing I have at most a few months left."

"How did you know I lived here?" Y/N asked.

"I can tell because of your eyes for one, and also because you don't have the curse mark of the branch family."

Her lips curved into an 'O' and she nodded before he placed her down.

"It was nice to meet you-"

"Hashirama. Hashirama Senju." An expression of pure surprise was etched onto her face and she genuflected.

"Hokage-sama! But how come?"

"An act of kindness goes a long way." Hashirama returned, beaming brightly. He was very handsome she mentally noted.

"Especially for a beautiful thing like you." Y/N blushed fifty shades of red and covered her face before hurrying into her house (never to be called a home, for that it was not).

She was called a siren by those that knew her.
Called Minerva by those that did.
But the one curse of a noble woman, was
she always went the man with the highest bid.
No matter if he made her laugh, no matter if he made her cry.
And as for dear Y/N, her time of betrothal was nigh.

When her father summoned her to his office, she knew he hadn't meant well.

"Sit and pour yourself a cup of tea." Shakingly, Y/N pours the green tea into a cup and lifts it to her lips. No wasn't ever taken for an answer.

"Do you permit me to ask a question, Chichi-ue?"

The dark haired man nodded and sipped his own cup of tea.

"You are permitted." Y/N nodded and began.

"Why is it that you summon me, Chichi-ue? Is it to discuss the marriage?"

He frowned at his daughter. "I permitted you to speak once and you posed two questions. Are you trying to disrespect me?! Do you know who I am?!"

She bowed her head and apologised.

"Gomennasai, Chichi-ue. I'm listening only from now." He set his tea down angrily and stood up.

"Tomorrow you'll be meeting with your suitor. While his parents were still alive, we agreed that you and him would tie the knot. This was almost 6 years ago. You're now old and less people want you simply because they didn't follow through with the plan."

She mentally sighed once more at her father's word choice. She was old? To all others she would be considered a spring bud, only 19 and not yet in the prime of her life. But such words she could not exchange with her father unless she was looking for trouble.

"Your suitor's elder brother did his best to delay this arrangement but it's finally come to be. The Senju has accepted my offer and you are to be wedded in a few weeks."

And when he told her that she was going to be marrying the son of Butsuma and Adisura Senju, she knew things would only go awry from there.

I want to keep this short and maybe sweet so I'm aiming for roughly 7 chapters. Just in case you're wondering why you've seen that image before, it's because I was too lazy to draw another Hyuga OC (you if you were a Hyuuga. But you can insert yourself physically if you wish) so I used one I drew back in October or November (I can't remember). Should I make this lighthearted or tragic? It's up to you guys. Have a wonderful day.
