A curse it might seem
the bonds of love, so tight they can redeem
a lost soul condemned to eternal doom.
Love so strong it could transform a demon, or so I once assumed.
I thought I had saw an angel in my living room.
She was lovely in all ways possible, always smelt of sweet perfume.
In all her angelic glory, I thought she couldn't die
But soon enough, I learned her grace was but a lie.
-Exeunt"But you don't love her! Why do you continue to put her through all of this! What's wrong with you?!" He grabbed his brother by his furry collar and gave him a violent jerk. He retaliated by ramming his pale fist into his older brother's face.
"Mother and Father wanted this union! Do you really want to go against their wishes like that, ani-ue?!"
"There would obviously be a man who actually cares for her who wouldn't be able to because you're so concerned about what our parents would've wanted!" He released his younger brother and balled his fist. "And you obviously don't fit the bill! All you ever do is push her away and tell her she isn't worth your time! Is that what you call love? Love is what Y/N deserves and if you can't give it to her, back the hell off!"
Tobirama looked at his brother, his snarl curving into a sneer. "You want her don't you? Y/N. You've been spending so much more time with her than I have; and I can't believe your 'only friends' excuse. I'm quite surprised you got over the princess so quick-"
"Don't bring her into this, otouto. I'm warning you!"
"It's really a shame. I'm the one that's supposed to learn to love Y/N and I don't plan on bringing any shame to mother and father's memory. When the elders told you to get over Mito, this wasn't what they had meant, ani-ue."
He stormed out of the room in order to prevent himself from getting any angrier. Anger was his least favourite emotion as it caused people to do things they regret. He didn't need to be angry at all since he had planned to meet with Y/N that day. He only needed positive emotions considering how Y/N was.
Tōbīrāmā sat down and ran a hand through his hair. He could hardly even recognise himself any longer. What the hell was he doing? He wasn't supposed to fall in love with Y/N, or anyone! Love only weighs people down, and he had no wish to be weighed down with anything. She would have to adjust to a loveless marriage, and he would have to distance himself enough to keep it that way. Little did he know that the space he had created was being occupied by someone closer than he expected.
---
The cool spring breeze whirled around and Y/N rested her head on Hāshīrāmā's shoulder. He had his arm around her as they admired his garden. The koi pond was once again teeming with life, a sigh that winter was over and Spring had arrived. The wisteria and Sakura were in full bloom, a sight the two of them were enjoying together.
"Y/N, I have something I want to tell you. It's very important."
He now had her undivided attention, her warm grey eyes staring straight into his dark brown orbs.
"I've known you for a few months and I just wanted to tell you that just everything about you is perfect. You're smart, beautiful, strong, brave; just everything that a guy could ever hope for. And yeah, I know you're supposed to marry my little brother, but I just wanted to let you know that I. . ." He coughed before reddening and let out an incoherent phrase.
"Pardon?' Y/N asked him.
"ISaidILoveYou" He spoke rather quickly once more.
Y/N raised a brow at him and shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what you're trying to tell me, Hashi-kun."
