Betty's POV

Oh, my! I did that! "Drive," I whispeed to Juggie. Just like that we were off, heading down to the Chock'lit Shoppe, Veronica and Archie trailing along in Archie's car.

---

After we got in and had some food and milkshakes, I saw two familiar faces walk in the door. "Toni, Sweet Pea!" I called them over cheerfully. They came over with smiles as Sweet Pea pulled up and chair for Toni.

Everyone exchanged 'hello's and then Veronica spoke up. "Toni! It's so great that you're here. I was just thiking about it, and," she paused, looking around the table with a smile. "As a way to welcome you to Riverdale High, you, me, Betty--sleepover at my house!"

"Woah, thanks...Veronica, but would your parents be...okay with me being there," Toni asked in response. "Oh, of course. They're two of few people in Riverdale that accept the Southside. They're even partnering with Andrews Construction on some projects over there," Veronica replied.

"Okay, I'm in," Toni smiled. "What about you, Betty-Girl?" she asked, looking over at me as I set my strawberry milkshake down. "Um, I'm not really sure if my parents will let me," I sighed before looking around and seeing both girls with disappointed faces.

"But I could try," I offered, seeing them smile again.

After Jughead gave me a ride to my street, I gave him a kiss and headed down the sidewalk, slightly uneager to go home. "Elizabeth," My mother greeted, setting a small cup of hot tea on the counter. "Do you have any homework?" she asked, per usual.

"No," I responded, sitting down and putting my backpack on my lap. "Any projects?" "No." "Well, Mrs. Lodge called on the telephone and she wanted to know if you'd be interested in having a sleepover at the Pembrooke," Mother said.

My head shot up as I didn't know if Mrs. Lodge told my mom abot Toni. "Oh, is there anyone else going?" I questioned aloud, fully knowing the answer. "Not that I know of," Mother replied, brushing off my concern. "I would love to," I replied.

"Oh, um, I do have a bit of a...side project in school," I added, nervously. My mom looked at me, encouraging me to go on. I was about to tell her about the Northside-Southside dance, but then I rememered the conversation from last nght.

"Oh, it's just...tutoring," I lied. "I was thinking about offering it to some students." "Only the ones from the Northide," My mother warned. "We can't run the risk of one of those SOuthside thugs taking advantages, now can we?"

"No, ma'm," I replied before standing up with my bag and heading up stairs to pack for the sleepover. i went into my room and locked the door behind me, but just like the last time, I wasn't changing. I went over to my telephone and sat on my bed, grabbing the piece of paper that had the phone number of my love.

I dialed the numbers that were clearly printed and held the phone to my ear as it rang.

"Hello?"

There was his voice. His beautiful, dreamy voice.

"Hey, Juggie," I replied, unknowingly twisting the cord in my fingers. "Oh, Betts," I heard him say on the other line. "Is Toni there? I don't know what time I'm supposed to show up to Veronica's," I replied. "Um, she's already packing," he replied. "And heading out the door," Jughead added.

"Well, that answeres that question," I chuckled. "I can give you a ride," Jughead offered. "What do mean?" "I can come pick you up on my motorcycle from your curb and drive you to the Pembrooke," he clarified.

"That would be lovely, Juggiekins," I replied, smiling.

---

After I was packed, I headed off to the curb where Jughead and I were supposed to meet. I didn't have to wait another minute before he pulled up and helped me onto his bike, me slinging my bag over my shoulder.

---

Within minutes, we were at the Pembrooke as Veronica and Toni both came out to greet us. We went inside and talked, laughing about dumb teenage girl things before Mrs. Lodge knocked on Veronica's bedroom door.

"Veronica? I brought some snacks and tea," she said from the other side. "Come in!" My best Northside friend's voice rang. The door opened, revealing the beautiful Hermione Lodge with a steel carry-plate with pieces of toast and a metal tea kettle with three cups.

"Does anyone need or want anything else?" she asked, setting the tray down on Veronica's desk. "We're good, Mother, but thank you," Veronica replied. "Thank you, Mrs. Lodge," said Toni and I. When the door closed, Toni went back to braiding my hair and Veronica went back to reading her catalog.

"Who wants to play a game?" Veronica sat up. Toni and I looked at each other before giggled and agreeing. "So, this game is called 'I Confess.' Soebody will ask one of us a question and who ever gets asked has to start of their answer with the words 'I confess...' All answers must be complete honesty," V explained.

"Okay, I'll ask first," Toni said, turning to me. "So, Betty-Girl, do you really, truly, seriously like Jughead?" "I confess that...no. I don't like him," I replied. Everyone looked shocked.

"I don't like the way he looks at me or how he makes me feel. I don't like the way he says my name. I don't like how he accepts me even though I'm a Northsider. I don't like that I see a future with him. I do not like Jughead." Everyone around me was jaw dropped.

I chuckled a bit and teared up before saying, "I love the way he looks at me and how he makes me feel. I love the way he says my name. I love how he accepts me even though I'm a Northsder. I love that I see a future with him. I love Jughead."
