I sat there waiting for class to start when I heard a boy with a deep Cajun accent say "hey". I figured they were talking to someone else so I didn't bother to answer.
He said hey again so I knew he had to be talking to me. I looked up and he was looking at me,waiting for me to respond. I gave him a quiet "hello" and before he could respond the bell rung. The teacher, Mrs. Summers, checked attendance.
She made the boy(whose name name apparently was Hunter) stand up and tell the a little about himself.
"I'm Hunter and I moved here from Louisiana." That would explain the accent. He sat down and we started talking about DNA.
The bell started to ring, which meant time for English to start. He and I had that class together and the only available seat was next to me.
Everyone was trying to move other kids move so he could sit there but he kindly refused and took the seat next to me.
