Don't play song yet

At the office
Max's POV
"Hey Max!" I heard Jess say from down the hall. "Yes?" I say trying to figure out what Jess needs. "Are you about to go home?" "Yeah, why? I asked confused. "Weeeeeeeell, I still have another hour, and I need a ride." "Fine, only an hour?" "Yeah, Adam took it easy on me today." "W-What do you?" I say even more confused then before. "I'm his younger sister, I have to live up to his expectations." "Pfft, Adam, expectations? As in the Adam who is always joking around-." She cuts me off. "Max I'm sorry but you don't know the reason why Adam is always happy, and is always trying to make someone happier than the way they were before he talked to them, if you did then...," she gave me a frown as here eyes start to glisten when they became dull.
. "J-Jess?" I say questioning her.
"Let's just go home." "Jess I'm going to figure out what you mean, you know? We are going to be roommates after all." "I-I know just not yet. Can we just go?" She stutters with tears still in her eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure Adam wouldn't mind." "Adam is a really good brother, isn't he?" I questioned. "Yeah, he is, more then you would think." She said with a grin. "You ready to go?" "Yeah, let's go!"

I wonder what she meant when she said that Adam is always trying to make someone happier for a reason. I thought to myself, in the silent car as we drove. It started to get more awkward then it was in the office, so I decided to lighten the mood by saying, "So, got a favorite song you'd like to listen to?" "Yeah," She said softly. "Well, what is it," I said. "Complicated, by Avril Lavigne," "Really," I questioned. "Yeah, just play it."
Play song up top

Uh huh, life's like this
Uh huh, uh huh, that's the way it is
Cause life's like this
Uh huh, uh huh, that's the way it is

Chill out what you yelling for
Lay back, it's all been done before
And if, you could only let it be, you will see
I like you the way you are
When we're, driving in ya car
And your, talking to me one on one but you become

Somebody else
'Round everyone else
Your watching your back
like you can't relax
You're trying to be cool
You look like a fool
Tell me

Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?
I see the way you're acting like you're somebody else gets me frustrated
Life's like this you
And you fall, and you crawl, and you break
And you take, what you get, and you turn it into
Honesty and promise me I'm never gonna find you fake it
No, no, no

You come, over unannounced
Dressed up, like you're something else
Where you aren't where it's at you see
You're making me
Laugh out, when you strike your pose
Take off, all your preppy clothes
You know, you're not fooling anyone
When you become

Somebody else
'Round everyone else
You're watching your back
Like you can't relax
You're trying to be cool
You look like a fool to me
Tell me

Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?

"Honestly seeing her so happy makes me even happier." I thought to myself while the song was playing. She reminds me so much of Adam, always playful and energetic. "So Max, how far do you live?" She asked after the song ended. "Well not that far, considering the fact that we're on the road." "Wow so you really don't live to far from the offices?" She said in a surprised manner. "Nah, that's why I have no problem working there." "You know, Adam considers you and Ross as his closest guy friends right?" She questioned. "Actually no, I didn't, I mean we have known each other for years, so I shouldn't be surprised." I answered to her odd question. "Well we're here want me to help you set up your room?" "Thanks Max, but I got it, I usually do better on my own, if you didn't know that already." She answers honestly. "Alright, alright, I'm going to watch TV on the couch if you need anything come and get me I'll be up for a while."

It's been a while since I posted, I know, I know. I seem to read more on this app then write, but whatever.
