Hey guys, I'm here to bring you a brand new tutorial! For those of you who've reached god-level, this five-part, basic tutorial will be useless, but for you noobs (*cough* me *cough*) this might be helpful.
Also, keep in mind I'm a Windows user, so if you're a Mac user, I have absolutely no idea what that means XD. Just kidding, just PM this account, and we'll find out if there are any changes to your shortcuts. It'll basically just be Ctrl = Cmd, etc. etc.
The first thing I'd like to cover is the basic shortcuts. Now these aren't all of them, hell, they don't even breach the tip of the iceberg, but, simple as they may be, they have the ability to increase your workflow more than you can ever know. I went from spending at least fifteen minutes searching for my tools, to less than three seconds.
It's all about muscle memory, folks. The more you do it, the quicker your reactions will become! Eventually you'll be flying across your keyboard, tools in hand before you even know what you need!
Now if something doesn't make sense, feel free to ask questions! I'd be happy to answer them, and if I don't have the answer, than I'll make sure to ask someone who does!

I left out a few, either because I'll cover them later, or because they're self-explanatory, but here it is! The basic tool shortcuts.
Hint: if you hover over a tool, a small text-bar will pop up beside it telling you the name of the tool, and its shortcut! I'd recommend, at least for the newbies, to spend a while getting to know the location of each tool, and its shortcut.
Like I said above, this speeds up your workflow exponentially!
_
And here it is! The fun stuff, man.
These are the basics of the basics for action shortcuts.
Let's say you need to fill a layer with a colour, usually you'd go into Edit > Fill > Foreground Colour, but instead of that lengthy process, you can simply press Alt and Backspace--easy, right?
Now, as you'll see in the picture above ^, I left out a space between the two paragraphs. Those three (as well as invert, at the very top) change your layer directly! They don't create a new layer first, which basically means that, if you were to press Ctrl and U, adjust your hue and press okay, the changes will take effect on whichever layer you're working on. It won't be like creating an Adjustment Layer.
Be mindful of that, because sometimes it can become quite messy if you don't do it right!
_
This should actually have been first--but whatever. It's pretty self-explanatory, so I don't really have anything to add!
_
So that's it guys, the basic shortcuts of Photoshop CS6. I'm pretty sure they'll be similar in any version of Photoshop, but if you're having trouble, just comment down below and we'll be sure to help!
In the next part, I'll be explaining some tools a little more in-depth, so keep your eyes out for that!
This is Nicki, signing out!
