Imagine tying to help Severus to revise for his herbology exam, but he seems wholly distracted by something or someone...
"And so the flower that blossoms on the seventh moon holds the-" you stop short as you seem him looking not at one of the many textbooks that you have open, but instead up at you with his chin resting on his hands and an indiscernible expression. "Severus? Severus!?"
Eventually he snaps out of his daze as you click your fingers impatiently in front of his face, a frown marring your features and making him sit up straighter.
"Sorry beautiful." He mutters and hangs his head in shame. "It's just I love how much you get so excited and animated when talking about the things you love."
His admission makes you blush and trip over your thoughts as you search for a reply that sounds sane.
"Thank you." You finally settle on a response, a shy smile playing at your lips as you blurt out a quick "you too."
There's no mistaking the wide grin that pulls at his lips and from that point on you know that there's absolutely no use in talking about herbology any more.
