I returned to school Monday morning despite mama and mom's protest, they wanted me to stay home today and tomorrow but I can't I need to go to school. I need to feel normal and keep my grades up and practice to cheer Friday night at an away game.

Sitting in my English class I can feel eyes burrowing into the side of my head. Casting my eyes around through my fringe I notice the only person who is looking at me is Alex which is weird. Why in the hell is he staring at me, he's straight, I'm gay, he's the quarterback and I'm a cheerleader. Turning my head enough so he can see that I have noticed him staring at me he doesn't turn away though. His eyes drill into mine and he smirks at me causing me to blush and glance down.

The teacher announces that we are doing a family unit and she's pairing us up with our partner. We have to do a family budget for bills, food, utilities, fun activates, insurance, rent payment, etc. We will be given what our careers are and the hours we work and the pay we make. Sitting in silence I wait for the teacher to announce partners. I hope I get someone I can at least tolerate and work with. My ideal partner would be either James or Alex but my luck I'll get someone who won't do their damn share of the project.

James is partnered with a girl that is on the cheer squad with us that is a good egg and she'll be a fine partner for James. I'm happy for him. My name is called and I hold my breath to hear my partner's name.

"Quinn Evans and Alex Blyth," the teacher moved on to the remaining four groups before she passed out the paper with guidelines on it and when the project is due. We have to also decide how many children we are having. Alex turns around in his seat to smirk at me with a glint in his eye. Huh, that's interesting.

We have the rest of the class period to work on our project. So, Alex grabs his stuff and settles himself in the now empty seat next to me and we spend the next thirty minutes working on our project. I am having a hard time containing my joy from exploding out of me for having Alex as my partner.

"So, here's our paper with all of the information we need except how many kids we're going to have." Alex wiggles his eyebrows at me with an evil smile.

Blushing a deep shade of red I tilt my head downwards to use my hair to hide the blush. Alex gently brushes my hair from my face before tilting my chin upwards in order to look deeply into my eyes causing me to blush even harder.

"So, how many kids are we having through adoption or a surrogate?" he whispers as he brushes my hair from my eyes.

Giggling to myself I stutter out "Um, I'm not sure. I've always wanted four or five children myself. How about you?" I ask shyly.

I hear him chuckle so I glance up at him in question. "You're so adorable. I've always thought I would have three kids but four sounds great to me as long as we have one son, I'm good with whatever number you would like," he says and I can tell that he was sincere in his answer.

"Four it is then," I say as I grab my pen to write down the number four on the paper before we continue on writing down the rest of our answers. We managed to answer all but two of them by the end of class. We've agreed to get together on Saturday at my house to work on the project again at 2 p.m.

I leave class to my next one with a smile on my face for the first time in several days. James smiles at me as he wraps an arm around my shoulders as we enter our next class. The rest of the day flies by in such a whirlwind that it was great. The rest of the week is just like today as well and before I know it, it's time for the Friday night game again.

I've been texting my mystery person all week as well, I had even gotten texts while I was in the hospital last Friday night and I knew it couldn't have been James since his phone was sitting on the table next to my bed the whole time he was there and I was receiving texts.
