from the ages 1-11 Harry Potter learnt to be okay with not being loved. he had no one who would ever love him or care about what he was doing. he was okay with this because he barely knew that other kids his age didn't experience the same thing.
when Harry Potter was 11-12 he learnt what it was like to be loved, to be cared for. not only by his friends, the first ones he had ever had, but also by teachers, guardians, and people he didn't even know!
13-18 Harry Potter decided he did not like being loved by people who didn't know him. he did not like having to hide before going out in public because he was Harry Fucking Potter and oh you have time for just one photo! or would you mind answering a few questions for me?
After the battle of hogwarts things changed. Ron and Hermione decided they were better as friends, and everyone liked that. Harry decided now was as good as time as any to say he was bisexual, he did basically die so he'd like his friends to know in case he didn't come back from the dead in the foreseeable future. Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy began to date, much to the shock of absolutely no one.
Harry foolishly believed that after the war, with voldemort gone and no longer being at hogwarts, that he would no longer be in the spotlight. He was very content in believing that until one day, Draco and him were having a lovely date in hogsmead and suddenly a bright flash startled them while the shared a sweet kiss while all sharing a butter beer.
The next day a paper was delivered to their flat(only their friends and family knew they shared one). The headline, The boy who lived is living for a former death eater??, was only matched in intensity by the large photo of the two of them kissing in a both, smiles on their faces as their lips are attached.
"Draco! Come and look at this!" Harry called up to his boyfriend who was currently in the kitchen, making coffee due to Harry's request. Draco didn't understand this odd muggle drink.
"Coming," Draco grumbled, making his way to the living room which led to their front door. When he noticed the picture upon the paper Harry was holding, he paused slightly, and his mouth opened, and closed again.
"What the hell is that, Harry?" Draco asked, and though it was a question it some how sounded more like a statement.
"Well apparently I'm still 'famous' and since I'm dating you and the press just found out, we're both famous. At least you look cute in the picture!" Draco rolled his eyes and pulled in the taller boy for a kiss.
"I look cute in every picture." He mumbled against his lovers lips.

After the two had realized they could barely leave the house without getting bombarded, they realized they needed a fix to their problem.
When the press realized their love wasn't "doomed from the start" half the press just basically documented their entire life, taking pictures of every step they take. a quarter of the press was creating weird rumors, apparently "harry james potter-or is it malfoy? Marriage on the horizon!". and the last quarter of the press asked crude and horrible questions. "so draco, tell me, what's it like dating a man of color?" "which one of you tops?" and the most common, "who's the woman in this relationship?" now when people ask them for comments, they pretend they can't hear and scurry off in the other direction.
"Draco?" Harry questioned as his lover flipped through an old book he's already read a thousand times.
"Hm? What is it love?"
"How would you feel about going on dates to muggle places? I don't think wizarding press would follow us there-too risky-and it's not like any muggles know about the wizarding world so they won't know anything about us!" Draco thought for a moment, and shrugged.
"As long as they have ice cream." He decided, and the two chuckled as Draco finished his book and Harry silently planned their muggle date.
*time skip bc i'm a bad writer oops*
Harry practically pulled Draco along as they walked down the street, to a muggle pizza and ice cream shop, Timber Creek.
"Merlin, it feels so good to not have to worry about reporters and such bombarding our dates!" Draco exclaimed as he pressed his lips against Harry's cheek.
"No kidding," Harry laughed. "If one more reporter asks you what it's like to date a man of color, I'm gonna go mental!" The two joined hands and ordered their ice cream before making their way to a little booth near the front.
"It almost feels weird," Draco began. "I mean, I knew dating 'Harry Fucking Potter' was gonna be different than dating any other guy, but I didn't know I'd be in the press! Look, Harry! We're sitting by a window and no one could care less about us!" Draco shouted while gesturing wildly towards the window near them. I laughed and put my hand in my face, muggles were beginning to stare at us because of his volume.
"Hush, Dray! People are staring!" I reprimanded him quietly.
"Let them!" He crowed gleefully. "They can stare at us all they want and tomorrow, we won't wake up to a photo of us kissing on the front page!" He pulled me in for a long, sweet kiss. I could taste the dark chocolate ice cream he just had on his lips and feel the cold from it too. When we pulled away for air we didn't move from each other, and shared one breath between us.
Our sweet moment was interrupted by a bright flash. We both whipped our heads to look our the window and saw two people, a man and a woman, with wizarding cameras, capturing our moment.
"For merlin's sake! How did they find us here?" Draco grumbled while the bell that signaled someone entering the restaurant jingled. Another two reporters rushed in and started taking pictures of us. Draco put on his sunglasses as did I, and we hurried to go pay.
"Harry! Can we get a quote about Draco for the Daily Prophet?" Someone called our.
"Draco, can you tell us in one sentence what it's like dating someone so famous?" Another one yelled.
"Drarry, is it true? Is marriage in the horizon!" The last reported called out. The muggles in the shop looked very confused, and there were two teens in a booth who were rushing up to us, phones at the ready.
"Can we get a picture with you?" The boy asked. Draco and I exchanged confused glances.
"Wait, how do you know who we are?" The teens glanced at each other before the girl started stuttering.
"Um, well, you're in that one movie...right?" I shook my head no. "Oh, right, you released that album...yeah?" Another head shake no. "You wrote that book?"
"Listen," Draco started. "You two seem lovely, but we aren't famous. Not for anything you two would know about. We have to go now, hope you have a lovely evening." He ended the conversation abruptly, and dragged me out of the restaurant. We made a run for it, ditching the reporters and hiding in an alleyway before using floo powder to get back to our flat.
We collapsed on the couch after the whole ordeal, ready for the day to be over.
"Can you believe those muggles tried to get a picture with us even though they didn't know us!" Draco exclaimed.
"Hey," I began, slightly. "When you're famous in one area, you're famous in them all."
