By "we are not having a baby shower", Constanze meant that they were not having a baby shower.
However, Thiago never agreed with her, that is why, three months later, he had to tell her the truth.
"Hey, Anze?"
"Yeah?" she looked at him, and he took her hand, walking side to side.
It was a Saturday, and Thiago had asked his girlfriend to pick him up after training. He was the only one left, because he had taken all his time to get ready-on purpose-, but Constanze did not seem to mind.
"You know that I love you a lot, just like the baby, right?"
She stopped walking and looked at him, suspicious.
"Please don't tell me that you have an away game around my due date, please please please," she whined, and he frowned.
"What? No, no I don't. It's..." he took a big inspiration, "I kind of organized a baby shower behind your back."
"You what? Why would you do that?!" she closed her eyes, putting her hands on her face.
"Because it is important! Having everyone reunited to celebrate and-"
"That's the thing! That's exactly the thing, Thiago! We cannot have everyone reunited, not even our families! And seeing that will make me feel guilty, because you fucking decided to spend your life with me and this is the problem!"
"Shut up," he said firmly, taking both of her hands off her face. She tried to look away, but he took her chin his in hand, finally meeting her eyes. "Shut up, Constanze, you are not the problem, my mom is, and all the people saying that this is disgusting-or whatever-are the problem. But not you, because you make me happy. We cannot have everyone reunited, but that is not gonna stop us for celebrating, on the contrary."
"Okay," she mumbled, and he sighed before hugging her.

When they arrived, everybody was in the garden, already chatting and laughing, and Constanze's face lighted up.
"You did all that?" she asked her boyfriend, amazed.
It looked like a cliché baby shower, with everything in blue and pink, from the balloons to the glass.
"No, he did not! We helped," said a voice behind them, and Constanze turned around and smiled when she saw that it was Corentin and Célia.
"Hey guys! Thank you, you did not have to," she pouted.
"You're kidding? Thiago only told us a few weeks ago that you are pregnant, but he keeps talking about it so much that I feel like you are having my baby," Corentin sighed, and Thiago frowned.
"Disgusting. And I don't talk about the baby all the time. You do."
Constanze rolled her eyes before entering the house, and she almost screamed when she saw Kate singing in the kitchen.
"Kate?!"
She raised her head and smiled.
"Constanze! You guys are finally here, great! What do you think of the cake?"
Constanze cooed when she noticed the big white cake with blue and pink creams everywhere.
"Wait, Thiago told you? The sex, I mean," she frowned.
"Uh, yeah. I know you guys wanted to keep it for yourself, but he did not really have any other choice. But don't worry, I didn't tell anyone. Actually, Rafael and I went to see the twins one last time before we can officially adopt them, and I told them about their future cousin. Rafa was so jealous."
"Really?" Constanze smiled. "Were they happy?"
"They were, trust me. Now, we should go. Can you take the plate of cookies right there?"
"Did you bake those too?" she asked when she saw the "baby" cookies, and Kate shook her head.
"That's your boyfriend and mine."
They finally left outside, and Constanze took almost twenty minutes to say hello to everyone. Her parents and Mark were there, some of her friends from bakery school as well. Rafael and Thaisa were laughing with their father in a corner, and she was pretty sure that the whole Bayern Munich team was there.
"Hey you," whispered Thiago in her ear, putting his hands on her belly before kissing her cheek.
"Thank you so much," she smiled. "I haven't realized how much I wanted this."
"My pleasure. Now, let's go and cut the cake so I can stop saying 'it' when I talk about our baby?"
Constanze laughed, and they walked to the cake, everybody looking at them.
"Go on," she decided, and he whispered a 'you sure?', before taking the knife when she nodded in agreement.
He sucked at cutting cakes, and he knew it, so he frowned when he realized that the piece was huge, but he put it on a plate nonetheless, reveling the pink cream on the inside.
Applauds followed, and he gave the plate to Constanze with a smile, catching a spoon on the table.
"Have you seen the size of your piece?" she mocked, and he laughed.
"You have to eat for two, our baby girl is starving as well," he remarked, and she put the plate down to hug him.
Mark and Kate ended up cutting the cake-it was something that they were both doing on a daily basis, contrary to the elder Alcántara-, while Constanze and Thiago spent time with their guests. She was usually staying discrete when the Bayern team was reunited, but no one seemed to be mad about it, because they were all talking to her as if she was family. And in a way, she knew that she was. She was part of the Bayern family, and her daughter too.
"Anze, have you seen Thaisa?" Thiago suddenly asked, and she shook her head.
"No? Why?"
"She went to her car like, five minutes ago to take her present for the baby, I thought she was back already. I don't want to start opening the presents without her."
"Will wait for her," she said, and Thiago nodded before walking to Rafael-probably to tell him to wait, since he was litteraly filming everything since the beginning of the baby shower. She shrugged and decided to check on Thaisa, walk to her car that was parked a little farther in the street.
What she did not expect was to see Valéria arguing with Thaisa in front of the latter's car.
