Drea POV
I looked in the mirror at my black suit with the lavender shirt under that I bought from Jordan's brand with my hair freshly braided. I made sure everything was looking right before it was time to head out. I've been staying at my moms house while Nadia and Liyah been at our house. We've still been communicating and comforting each other but we ain't together. Since I was taking her to the funeral, I called her up to see if she was ready to go. "Wassup you ready?" I asked her over the phone. "Yes we just have to drop off Liyah to Josh's I don't want her to be at a funeral." She told me. "That's fine I'll be there in 10." I said before hanging up. I sprayed some cologne putting on my shoes then headed down stairs to the car. I just hope my family don't act up like they did with my dad's death or be rude to Nadia like when they first met her. I got into the black Audi today with the dark tents. I drove to the house thinking about how everything is gonna go. I pulled into our driveway texting her letting her know I'm outside. She came out in a lavender dress with a black cover up with her hair straightened to the down to her ass. Liyah had on something similar with her hair in to curly ponytails. I smiled at the view of Liyah because I haven't seen her in forever. She put her in her car seat buckling her up then getting in the front seat. "Dredre!" Liyah squealed in the back seat seeing me. "Hey baby." I said looking at her through the rear view mirror. "Hey." I said to Nadia giving her a hug over the console. "Hey how you feeling?" She asked me rubbing my back. "I'm not ready to be honest." I said shaking my head at the fact I'm really laying my mom to rest today. "Me either." She sighed lookin out the window as we drove to Liyah's dads house. I was debating on telling Nadia that I'm moving into my moms house because she left it to me. "Nadi..." I called her softly as she continued to look out the window. "Hm?" She hummed. "I'm moving into my moms house and you can keep our house." I said still focusing on the road. Her head immediately shot up at me. "What? Why can't you just stay with us? I know we not together but it won't be the same without you." She said adding hurt to her voice. "I know but, it's best for the both of us Nadia." I said stopping in front of the huge house. "Please...can you just stay Drea." She said looking me in my eyes. It's hard as hell to say I can't but I really can't. "I'm sorry but I have to keep up with my moms house." I said as hurt as she was. "Ok. I understand." She said quietly. Damn, I feel like I just ruined even more for her. She got out taking Liyah from out of the back seat putting her on her hip as her dad came outside to get her baby bag. He grabbed the bag from the back seat and nodded in a wassup right motion at me as I did it too.

Nadia POV
Drea telling me that she's moving out of the house really broke my heart because I feel like it my fault. I took Liyah out of her seat as josh walked out to the car to grab her bag. We walked up to his door together. "You good?" He asked me in a way where Drea couldn't see him talking to me. "Yea the funeral it today that's all."I told him as he clearly see it in my eyes there's more to it than that. "You lying I'll talk to you later call me when you on your way back." He said talking normal when we got inside. I nodded walking back out. "I'm serious you better come back." He yelled to the car as I got in. "I will." I yelled back putting in my shades from the sun. Drea looked at me as she started the car back up. "What was that about?" She asked me. "Nothing really." I sighed looking out the window as we were on our way to the church. She nodded slowly like she always does when she thinks I'm lying but she isn't gonna say anything. "I'll be by to get my things after we come from the get together." She said almost harshly. "Ok." I simply said to avoid any arguments at a time like this. We pulled into the parking lot of the huge church and my heart began to beat rapidly. "D-Drea I'm not ready." I said walking backwards slowly. "Hey, you can handle this we in this together Ight?" She said grabbing my hands looking me in my eyes. I locked my arm with hers squeezing it tightly as we walked through the church doors together. I took a deep breath as we walked to the front of the church where Amber, Chris, Jordan, and Aries was sitting because they put us as her kids on the obituary as she requested. Both of Drea's  aunties and her ex Zaria was behind us whispering slick remarks. I hear one of them say "Drea ain't had no business bringing her here she don't belong here especially with a dress on like that." I looked at Drea with the 'your better get em' face as she turned around telling them to be respectful  at her mother's funeral which they should be because that's their sister. I shook my head at their behavior just because I'm here. "Now if all of the family of Sister Grace stand and say their goodbyes before we start the service." The pastor said as we all stood up lining up with a partner. Everybody said there goodbyes then our turn came up tears flowed down our eyes as our arms were still locked. Drea kissed here index finger and middle finger placing it on mama Graces hand that was crossed over her chest. I wiped my eyes with one of my hands and rubbed Drea's back with the other. "I love you." We said in sync looking at her. Since we were the last ones we had to close the shiny lavender casket. Hearing the click of the casket I felt weaker and weaker from crying. Drea grabbed my waist walking us back to our seat I wiped my tears still weeping. "Now we have An'Drea speaking words about her mother. Would you please come up." The pastor said as she looked at me. I motioned her to go up there. "Come up with me." She told me. "Drea I can't you're her daughter you got this." I told her but she pulled me up anyway. Everybody begin to bicker as we walked up to the stand. I held her hand and told her she's got this as she began. "My mother.." she smiles to keep from crying. She went on about her childhood and house her mother treated me and my family like her own family. As soon as she brought up me her people looked at me funny. After she finished they clapped and her Aunt Gladys sung one of Mama Grace's favorite songs as everybody exited to their cars. "Drea I think ima just go home." I said shaking my head as her arm was over my shoulder. "Man don't let them people stop you from paying your respects to mama." She said as we reached the car. "That's true but your people don't like me Drea and I feel uncomfortable and like I don't belong around them." I said looking down at my nails that matched my dress. "Nadia you coming with me no questioning." She told me as we got into the car. "Anything Drea. I'm leaving." I simply told her as we pulled up to mama graces house. I rolled my eyes seeing her auntie Gladys coming up to the car. "Hey baby!" She said to Drea hugging her as I stood next to her. "Nadia.." she said looking me up and down walking back to the house where they play good old school music. "Don't worry bout it." Drea told to me taking my hand in hers. Mama Grace had two sister Gladys and Gloria she used to tell us that they were the more stuck up ones and now I see exactly what she meant. "Hey everybody." Drea said as we walk into the house while the aroma of food on the grill flowed through the house. "Hey babygirl." Her ain't Gloria said rubbing her shoulders after pulling away from their hug. Drea led me to the couch where we both sat. "Ima go get something to eat you want something?" She asked me causing me to stand up with her. "No wait don't leave me you know how your family get." I said lowly close to her so she could hear. She laughed shaking her head. "Come on." She told me as I took her arm. We walked into the kitchen where all the people our age were which is her cousins Jaylani, Dezaray, and Dezaray friend Zaria. Jaylani and Dezaray were the ones who the family always left because they aren't "good enough and don't know how to act" but to me they're really cool girls. Zaria on the other hand is Drea's ex pretty brown skin with red hair and hazel eyes she doesn't like me for nothing in this world. "Hey girl! We haven't seen you in forever!" Dezaray said hugging me followed behind Jaylani. "I know I miss y'all cute selves." I said stepping back looking at them boosting they heads. "Yess girl you look good." Jaylani said spinning me around. "Girl how they treating you?" Jaylani asked me chuckling. "The usual." I said sipping my drink lookin back at Drea. "Hi An'Drea." Zaria said walking over leaning on the counter next to her. See Drea's family actually like Zaria so she feels like she has an advantage. She was the girl at the game with Drea when josh was playing. "Wassup." Drea said not even looking at her still fixing her good. "Anyways what y'all been up to?" I asked not even focusing on them. "No real question is how is your relationship biitch." She asked me looking around me at Zaria trying to talk to Drea. "Rocky but we good." I said as Drea signaled me to come sit down with her. Zaria mugged me as Drea grabbed my hand. Jaylani, Dezaray, Drea, and I sat at the folding table outside in the backyard. "Oh bitch here come Zaria." Dezaray said putting her head down. "Ain't that's your friend." I asked laughing with my cup over my mouth. "Girl no she just came cause Drea pea head ass was gone be here." Jaylani said as Drea laughed. "Don't put me in this nigga." Drea said to Jaylani but looking atme. Zaria sat down next to Drea super close, and I looked straight ahead and Jaylani and Dezaray as we peeped What she was tryna do. Gloria came to the table causing everybody to stop their laughter. "Hey Zaria I ain't see you baby!" She said as Dezaray looked at her like she was lying. It's crazy because her, Jaylani and their mom don't even communicate because she think she higher than everybody. "Hey Ms.Gloria." She said getting up and hugging her. "Oh I see you and An'Drea matching how cute you two." She told her looking at Drea then back at Zaria as Zaria laughed. Jaylani and Dezaray and I all looked at each trying not to laugh because everybody at the house was wearing lavender. I ate some of the food from Drea's plate as Gloria looked at me in disgust before walking away. "Drea I can't take this." I said hard down laughing. "Wow I really can't believe she said only you and her was matching when he whole damn house wearing lavender." Jaylani said wiping tear from her eyes from laughing so hard. "Bae- Drea you and her matching." I said laughing slipping up. "Hush girl." Drea said laughing at how hard I was laughing. Zaria sat there looking stupid because we were laughing. "I think she's talking about our lavender is the same exact color." Zaria said fixing Drea's shirt collar. Drea moved her hand from her as Zaria laugh like she was playing. "Bitch don't you see her girlfriend sitting right there be respectful before I come across this table." Dezaray said to Zaria because she was being disrespectful even though she ain't my girl but they don't know that. "I'm sorry but I'm really hated for no reason I really wanna know why." I said calming down from laughing. "Girl all of us. Auntie Grace was the only one who actually accepted us." Jaylani said shaking her head smiling. "Yea She was I used to love coming over here just to get away from the wicked witch of Sacramento." Dezaray said causing laughter at the table except from Zaria...of course. "You shouldn't talk about your mama like that she did all she could do for you but you wanted to do your own thing." Zaria said as we all looked at her in silence. "Ok first of all snob you ain't have to live in the house with her for 20 years how she treats you is the total opposite of how she treated us so I don't need you to tell me how to talk about anyone thanks." Dezaray said smiling politely at her. "I'm just saying you doing too much." Zaria said. "Well why don't you join them. Go over there and play spades and drink wine coolers with her." Jaylani said throwing her hand up pointing where the old people were as I covered my face trying not to laugh. Drea also tried not to laugh looking away from her. Zaria got up walking back into the house as Drea and I bust out laughing. "Yo You stupid Lani." Drea said shaking her head. I wiped tears of laughter regrouping myself. "Y'all are too funny I swear." I said as Drea put her hand around my waist. I looked at her from the corner of my eye seejng her looking at me licking her lips. "So Drea since you got the house and it got 4 bed rooms.." Lani started. "What y'all up too now?" Drea said squinting her eyes at them as they smiled innocently. "Can we stay with you?" Dezaray came out and said. "I don't care I got rules though." She said surprising me. "Drea you got rules?" I asked her looking at her. "Yea no annoying shit." She said to them. "Hallelujah! Thank ya Jesus! We freed!" Jaylani said faking like she caught the Holy Ghost. "Have fun." I told her. Dezaray is about to be 20 and Jaylani is 19 their at an age to make their own decisions. "Ight y'all we'll see y'all later." Drea said as we stood up. "Ok bye y'all bring Liyah by to see us and nice seeing you again Nadia." Dezaray said as they walked through the house. "I seen how you put your arm around my waist and they way you looked at me." I said to her as she smiled. "So?" She said laughing. "You ain't slick but I only let it slide because that bitch was trying it." I said talking about Zaria as we walked to the car. We got in heading back to the house. "It wasn't that bad but you was quiet." I said letting my seat back looking over at her. "No you just ain't used to Afro-Latinas loud mouths." She joked smiling. "I love it." I said referring to Dezaray and Jaylani. "When we get to the house I wanna talk." She simply disregarding what I said. "Ok.." I said confused because she NEVER was to just talk. For the rest of the ride Bryson Tiller's whole True To Self album played and then No Longer Friends came on reminding me of Josh because he always put this song on when I'm in the car so I skipped it. It made me, feel weird.

Drea's POV

We pulled up to the house going inside. I sat down in the couch waiting for her to come sit. "Alrighty What you need to talk about?" She said walking in taking off her heels. "Sit down first." I told her as she sat next to me looking at me. "Ight check this out, I know we ain't together or nothing but I really don't wanna lose you so you gotta come visit me or I'll come over here no "no's" either. I love you and always will and will always be available for you got it?" I said getting straight to the point as she smiled. "I'll always love you too you know that." She said placing her hand on my face looking deep into my eyes. "And I want to see princess every time I see you." I told her as she hugged me. "you know I wouldn't keep her away from her Dredre." She said rubbing my back. It seems like when we're not together we're way happier but our love for each other will never change. I'll kill for her. I packed my thing getting ready to leave to my moms well my new place now but I ain't gone leave today probably like in two more days. I called Dezaray's phone. "Ayoo." She answered. "Wassup y'all asses better be ready to leave in two days no later." I told her as she laugh. "Calm down nigga our shit already packed and ready to go we wasn't playing no games with them bags." She said causing me to laugh "did y'all even tell auntie Gloria y'all moving in?" I asked her making sure. "Fuck telling her she ain't gone notice anyway she always got that saggy ass man over here." Jaylani said had me rolling. "Y'all a mess but Ight I'll call y'all in the morning I love y'all." I told them as they said it back in sync before hanging up. I sat next to Nadia she was looking so sad. "Wassup with you?" I said looking up at her as I laid back on the couch. She shook her said indicating nothing was wrong but I knew it was. "Ima visit you." I said smiling wrapping my arm around her. "I don't want you to leave at all though." She said playing with her nails. I already told the girls I was gonna let them move in so now there is no changing my mind as much as I want too. "I know but I have too it's what moms wanted." I told her as she understood. It's gonna be a good start over for both of us anyway.
