Anyone listening from inside their homes that night would have heard many bursts of laughter coming from the two giggling loons walking down their street.

However, to those loons, they noticed nothing else, just the voice of the person beside them. And that's what they wanted. It was enjoyable, which was not something they could say about every other person they hung around.

She burst into a belt of laughter at what her companion had said. "And then he freaking said 'Your hair is the size of bloody Texas,'. I had no idea what to say to that and just stared at him. I'm still not sure if it was an insult or not. After all, the guy was drunk."

It took her a second to get her breath back, spending a few minutes just giggling. That was a feeling she rarely got anymore. Sometimes she could feel her ambition just breathing down the back of her neck like a slave driver. She often didn't have control.

Which was a paradox in itself given her need to be in control over everything.

At that moment, however, her emotions was another thing she didn't hold the reins over. But all she was focused on was the terribly amusing story Thomas was telling her. "I mean, they weren't wrong. I could probably stick one of my pencils in there and I wouldn't be able to find it."

"You mean the one behind your head?" He asked, grinning like a fool. Alex hadn't put a pencil there, she knew, so she stared suspiciously up at him as she pulled a pencil out from behind her ear.

"How did you get that up there?" Alex asked, astounded. She hadn't remembered him putting it there or reaching over or feeling anything at all, really.

He refused to look at her, smirking and glancing over the scene in front of him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't be an idiot; yes you do. Now how did you put it there?"

Still smirking, he looked over at her from the corner of his eyes. "A magician never reveals his secrets."

"Magician my butt. The only thing magical about you is-" And that was where she had cut herself off at, cursing the moment she opened her mouth. She needed to think about what she was going to say before she said it. She knew it. But it was too late now.

As the blush spread across her cheeks, Jefferson looked over at her with a devious smirk. "What were you going to say then?"

"Nothing. I was going to say absolutely nothing." She refused to look at him.

"That's a lie and you know it. What were you going to say, Alexandra?" He stopped walking and stared at her, now only the corners of his mouth quirked.

She refused to say anything, keeping her eyes to a place just beyond his shoulder. Her pulse was racing and sweat was beginning to develop lightly over the tips of her fingers. However, Thomas lined his face up purposely to get in her way. "Fine, if you don't want to answer, I'll tell you this. I think your eyes are magic. I think your mind is magic. Your passion, drive, honesty, hands, your lips. All of it, magic. You are magic."

He had said it. Everything he had been thinking for the last couple of days was out there in the air. Thomas honestly thought he might have a chance, but it was Alexandra. The only thing predictable about her was her unpredictableness.

Like, actually, that was it. Anything else was free game.

He stood there, staring at her with an intensity he had never felt before and waited for her to respond. The look on her face was that of a deer in the headlights, but he hadn't given up hope just yet.

Alex had no idea what to say.

Which had rarely happened before.

So she did the first thing that came to mind.

She swiftly stepped up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Pulling him closer to her, Alex took the lead just as she did in every other aspect of her life.

A heady rush shot through her. His lips were soft and well taken care of just like everything else about him. He tasted of cinnamon and another spice she couldn't name. Alex pulled him against her and wrapped an arm around his waist.

It was a fight of dominance that Alexandra relished, but her need for air came into play. She back away, lightly sucking at his lip as she did so. When she looked at him, his eyes were partially fogged over and there was a slight pant in his breathing pattern.

Her eyes aglow, she grinned devilishly at him. "I'm going to classify that was magic."

Thomas just nodded, astounded at her answer. He hadn't expected her to respond so... fervently. It took him a second to figure out what to say, but when the words came to him, they were nothing near eloquent. "So, I'm assuming that you might want to do that again?"

At that, Alex laughs heartily and a light blush spread across Thomas's face, now trading places with where Alex was a little bit ago.

"Yes, Thomas. I'd have to say yes."

Part Two/Epilogue

John, Hercules, and Lafayette stood off to the side of their lane. Alex was winning, of course, and it took a moment to get to their turn given how all the Schuyler sisters, Madison, Washington, the three of them, and Thomas and Alex were all bowling on one screen.

Alex was attempting to show Thomas how to throw the ball, but he was failing and Madison was laughing with them. From their table, the boys could see the fake pout Thomas sent to her.

A year ago, that would have made John shiver in disgust. Then again, Alex and Thomas weren't together a year ago. Still, it was odd seeing be so... couple-like together. Every once and a while a flashback of what it used to be floated through his head.

But John shook his head and turned back to the conversation, attempting to join in on it once more. When he turned back, however, the only thing he found were Laf's and Hercules' pitying looks.

It's not like had been in love with Alex since the moment he laid eyes on her or anything.

But that didn't matter now because Alex was happy.

John smiled sadly at them with a hint of cynicism. "I'm be fine. Lex is happy. I wish them the best of luck." And he did. Honest.

A yell pulled him away from his thoughts. "Get over here John! It's your turn, and bring the rest of those lazy bums with you," Alex shouted, laughing at him.

John smiled and shook his head at her, but a side voice in his mind couldn't help but pointing out the arm she had wrapped around Thomas.

But that was alright because she wasn't his girl.

It was Alexandra Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, together forever.
