Ben and Rob took Kami for the weekend, and I decided to hit the gym with the girls.  Scott wanted to take me out tomorrow night, and I figured, why not?  I mean, I could be an adult for one night.

We went to Brent's gym. It had been a while since I had worked out. It was a big mistake—huge. I thought I was going to die.

Mel took to the treadmill like it was nothing, running even strides. I tried, and after five minutes, I thought I was going to die. She laughed at me.

Kara and Tara were on the bikes, so I decided to work out on the machines. I was terrible at this. Brent agreed to help me out and put my body through the wringer. How Mel keeps up with him is beyond me.

"Lina, I warned you that becoming best friends with Ben and Jerry was a terrible idea. You need more fruits and vegetables and a lean protein," Brent told me.

"Ben and Jerry and I have an understanding.  We have bonded through the years. They get me," I reasoned.

He gave me a look.

"You're not buying that, were you?"

"Lina, do I look like I was born yesterday?"

I shrugged.  Brent just shook his head and chuckled.  I sat there on the bench, talking to Brent. Brent was lecturing me on the evils of junk food, but you get the drift.

Then I heard whistling and peeked around Brent to see Scott and another guy as they walked over to the treadmill. Well, hello. I started drooling, and Brent turned to see who I was looking at and then chuckled.

"Lina, you've got it bad," he laughed.

"What?  Can I help if he has a nice form?"

He laughed even harder. Then I watched as some girls walked over and started talking to them. They engaged in conversation. My brows furrowed.

Brent turned and looked at what I was looking at, "Hmmm, it seems jealousy is a bitch, isn't it?" He arched an eyebrow at me. I looked at him and sighed. "Lina, listen to me. I've seen how he looks at you. I know you're scared, but trust me, I know that look."

"How do you know?"

"Because I look at Mel the same way," he told me. I nodded. Maybe he was right. It's not like Scott and I were official. All we had been doing was hanging out and sharing a couple of kisses. What did I expect? The thought depressed me.

Brent turned and saw some guy throwing weights around, "Hey! Yeah, you! Knock it off!" He walked over to the guy, and I laughed. Yeah, you never throw Brent's weights around.

I couldn't help but laugh. I didn't realize Scott heard me and turned around. He saw a guy walk up to me, and I started having a conversation with him.

"So, if you two weren't busy, we could maybe go for drinks?" One girl asked.

"Excuse me," Scott said as he got off the treadmill and walked towards me.

"Yeah, so if you aren't busy, maybe we could see a movie sometime," the guy suggested.

"There you are! I've been looking all over for you!"

We both looked at Scott.

"Sweetie, why are you here? You should be home taking care of our ten kids," he exclaimed. I did a double-take as I looked at him in shock.

"Ten kids?" The guy asked.

"Oh, yes! See, we have ten kids." He started rambling off names until he got to the name Pepe.

"Pepe?"

"Yes, you know, Pepe!" He said with exasperation. "God! You can't forget Pepe! He's in a wheelchair and so small." He started to sniffle. "I married Madrid here so she could get her green card and bring Pepe over to get medical attention, but I don't think it will last. I think he's going to die!" Scott started wailing and making a scene.
