It was the first day of George's little "trial". I hope it will all work out in the end. I sat at the vanity, tapping my fingers on the desk. I contemplated on how I'd carry myself, as in how I will act. Should I be sweet and loving? Or should I stay professional and more formal?

I decided to go with the latter. I had a duty to him to protect him, whether we make it as a duo or not. If we're not meant to be, I will just leave. No harm done, right?

I was very thankful George arranged for me to wear military-style attire. I could maneuver easier and didn't seem like a pansy. I looked like myself— a badass!

I had expected to get strange looks from the castle staff, but instead they seemed to enjoy a woman parading around in something that wasn't a dress. They gave me the kindest smiles and greetings. I pinned my hair up in the usual style, and proudly stepped out of my room with a newly found charisma.

The first sight my eyes laid upon was a rump stuck up in the air. How charming...I silently giggled at my inner sarcastic remark.

A random maid was bent down, brushing up the pieces of a suspiciously broken vase. She seemed to be struggling. So, I swiftly strode to her side, assisting in the cleanup.

She finally noticed who was her aid.

"Y-Your maje— lady, I mean. There is no need for a fine woman like yourself to go through this trouble to help a servant like me." She struggled to find words.

Did she just almost call me "majesty"? Why would she already think that? Did the staff already thinking that I was married to George? How absurd!

"I insist! I'm not some snooty, snobby son of a..." I trailed off.

My vision went blurry for the smallest of moments. I didn't fall over or anything unhealthy, but I just had realization. I had a new purpose in life.

No longer did I want these poor people to suffer as slaves. Of course I hadn't in the first place, but it had never been especially noticed until now. I am determined. I am determined to set these people morally free. No more bowing down, begging for work, or being beheaded for the smallest impurities for these beings.

If I were to be queen, some social changes were going to take place. I'm sure of it.

King George's P.O.V.:

My heart was beating faster than a horse's hooves racing across a meadow. I found the courage to make her stay. Just for a while longer. Then I could make her mine.

I turned the corner to visit her in her chambers. Maybe I could "accidentally" catch her undressing! Boy, that would be a lucky day for me. Instead, I caught her in a more beautiful situation. She was graciously focusing on cleaning a mess I had made just a few minutes ago.

Yes, I broke that damn vase. I can't take the waiting anymore. I need Y/N by my side. She was mine. And my actions are starting to show it. So I smashed that vase to the ground to relieve stress.

Anyways, I walked up to them. It sounded like they were exchanging quick words. Y/N paused for a second; she seemed to have trailed off in thought. Then she snapped out of it.

"...b*tch." She stared at the ground.

I cleared my throat and stomped over to them.

"Queen Y/N, there you are. Why are you wasting your time with such unimportant matters when you should be enjoying breakfast with your love?" I boldly smirked.

Y/N's P.O.V.:

What the hell did he just say? Did he really manage to call me "his queen" and insult this poor girl all in one breath?

I angrily glared into his blue eyes. He didn't have the right to claim what isn't his just yet. He didn't have the right to belittle this maid. He didn't have the right to do any of the things he has done to the kingdom.

I slowly walked away from the two in a calm facade. I knew that George was going to follow me, but not the girl. I wanted to swap a few sharp words with that childish man— alone. We rounded the corner and I quickly froze in place.

I turned around to look at the f*cker.

"What the hell?" I hissed.

"Yes?" He questioned.

"I am not your queen. You can't treat these poor souls with indignity and disrespect. They work twice as hard as you for a fraction of the gratitude you get."

"My beautiful lady, I didn't intend harm. I care for you; I was just simply worried and impatient to see your appearance at breakfast. Your smile is my ray of sunshine over my dewy mornings."

I huffed. I let it go. I certainly didn't buy it one bit. But I just wanted to get past it and move on. I want to start the day off with my wonderful friend. I'll let this one slide, for now...
