Synopsis: Japanese-American track star Mizuki Ashiya (Maki Horikita) transfers from a school in California to Japan, but not to just any old school. The school is Osaka High School - an all male high school! Mizuki Ashiya must disguise herself as a boy, all to get closer to her hero Izumi Sano (Shun Oguri), a high jump athlete who attends Osaka High.
Now with short hair, flattened chest and deeper voice, Mizuki becomes roommates with Izumi Sano, but trouble soon starts to brew. Izumi Sano discovers by accident that Mizuki is a girl and falls in love with her, but Mizuki is unaware of the fact. Comments: If you have never seen this drama or it's remakes, watch this version first. IT'S FUCKING HILARIOUS. I've watched the Korean and a little of the Chinese and new Japanese remake, but I can honestly tell you, the original Japanese Hana Kimi has a special place in my heart. It's so so SO funny, you'll be laughing in almost every damn episode of this series. I admit, the main characters' reason for entering an all-boys school is pretty... naive. It really does start off as naive but her presence begins to affect other characters as the drama progresses. I mean, they are all HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. So it makes sense that the decisions they choose can be childish. But I come back to watch it because it makes me laugh every time. This drama also stars a lot of the popular actors today.
