The sound of small waves and flows of water engulfed the ear. The light blue water grew darker the deeper one stared. It was almost perfectly quiet and still.

Something fell in, back first hitting the water and the rest of the body followed in a contracted position. The brown hair strands swayed in different directions once under the water surface.

Smooth, clear skin shimmered slightly as the rays of light broke through to ocean onto his face, revealing the closed eyes that didn't flutter. The crash of the body hitting the water faded away as the air became quiet again and one could here water moving past again.

So soothing is the sound of being under but the scene was too surreal. Although the face was shining and the sun shown, the owner of the body and the face was blurry. The darkened black jacket shifted upwards as the body sank, sleeves hanging around the wrist.

There was blood before, not just remaining on the tips of his hands but one tile floors of small, cold room. He sat there, his eyes almost empty with his sister doing the same, tears running down her eyes though.

It was obvious to see what he had done, but the story kept changing.

In one there was just the by itself. In another, someone else sat across, the body being now where to be found.

The last is what frightened him the most, the one he felt would possible be unavoidable.

She would crumble to the floor after blocking the attack. She would be the one to suffer the blow, while he would have to suffer for what he didn't do.

And for never saying anything.

"Taehyung!"

She slowed down as quickly as possible and stood in front of the man, trying to regain her breath.

They met half way, the sun had already set but few rays still lit the sky. The sidewalk was not far from ocean side, since the sea was still visible.

The pup wiggled its way out of Taehyung's arms and pranced towards her, circling around and trying to keep her attention set on him. Unfortunately, that was not possible.

"Ah Y/N, seems like you found me..." His hand reached to rub the back of his neck as he revealed an awkward box smile.

Y/N looked down at the pup for a moment and looked back up at him, as if question whether it was his. She sighed and walked towards him, making sure not to trip over the white fur ball. Her steps were heavy and had an intention behind every one, causing Taehyung to step back and stiffen. He closed his eyes, expecting to be hit in some way in form, but it was otherwise.

He felt a cold hand grab his wrist and dragged him forward, almost making his stumble and fall but he caught his balance quick enough.

"Hey, uh I'm sorry-"

"Just shut up for now."

Taehyung tighten his lips and stayed silent for the remainder of their walk. He looked down to see how tightly she held him to the point that he felt the circulation being cut off. He watched as she walked quickly through the city crowds that approached them and grew, her hair being blown gently behind her. Various things came to mind then, too many to count that he got lost in them and didn't pay attention to how much had passed.

She suddenly stopped and Taehyung almost bumped into her. He sighed and let out a soft laugh while he looked up and around. The place had a warm feeling to it but was unfamiliar. The crowds weren't as thick and there were just a few bunches here and there. The pup had managed to follow them through all of that and was just as hyper.

Y/N turned to face him.

"Don't go to that place again unless you are with someone."

Taehyung could sense the seriousness in her voice, but couldn't help but burst out into laughter. Her facials had never been this stiff, nor had she ever requested something like this.

"I can't promise that, but I will try to heed to it since you helped out back then." He ruffled her hair and Y/N instinctively swatted it away.

"I don't know what is going on anymore, but I just want things to be fine..." she sighed, her tone shifting to one more frustrated as she pivoted on her heel and ran her hand through her hair. Pacing in a small circle, she sighed once more before turning away from him.

"Go home, Tae." Without any hesitation, she walked off into the distance and her figure faded away from his eyes.

He was alone, like he had been, or at least as he had been.

His long strides into the night took him from one place to another, the pup following persistently behind and the setting changing, until him in a familiar neighborhood.

"Again huh?" He looked around him, the playground catching his attention and then the dark alley to the side. Slowly, he bent down and scooped the pup back in his arms.

Why the alley intrigued him, he had no clue but he felt like he needed to check something.

And he got something in return for checking.

A sharp pain went straight to his face, another to his ribs, more coming from various directions.

Too many to count. His hearing went dull and the voices got drowned out. The pain grew more and more, but only one thing came to mind for a split moment: Protect the dog.

It took too long before it stopped before the beating stopped and faint footsteps left. His body burned and blood ran down his lips and head. It smeared against his hand when he wiped his mouth.

He dragged himself to sit up, the pup still in his arms.

The same boxy smile came to Taehyung's face then, but slowly faded as his last hope slipped away.

The pup forced its way out of the man's hold and ran off into the darkness, not any form of light reflecting his snow-like coat.

Now he was truly alone in this painful as he hung his head back and groaned. This world was cruel and even though he was warned, he didn't consider needing it so soon. In addition, he had something keep his comfort up till then, but when he needed it most it left.

Was that how she would be too, he thought. That same thought stuck with him throughout that night.

Jungkook sat outside the front door, the night breeze comforting him. She still wasn't back. He almost considered going to to find her but stopped when he saw her approach.

She paused in front of him when she drew near.

He stood up and pulled her inside, slamming the door behind them.

Y/N expected the worst thing to come but instead received a firm embrace, his hand softly running through her hair.

"Where did you go?" His voice was soft which made her relax a bit.

"I met up with Taehyung..." The room went silent.

Everything was so still to her, even Jungkook's breathing had slowed down.

He let go and sighed, avoiding as much eye contact with Y/N as possible. They stood there a for a bit before he turned around and walked his room, closing his room quietly behind.

The house remained that quiet throughout the night, neither of the two making an attempt to speak with one another.
