Chapter 10 - An Abandoned Pokemon

Ash and his friends were on their way to Vermillion City. However on their way they came across a familiar Pokemon on the rocks.

"Woah! A Charmander!" Ash says in excitement as he pulls out a Pokedex.

Charmander The Lizard Pokemon a Fire Type - Obviously Prefers hot places. When it rains, steam is said to spout from the tip of its tail.

"I'ma catch it! But first..." Ash says as he approaches the Charmander. "Hello there what are you doing here?" Ash says as he approached the Charmander. "Char!!! (Flamethrower!!!)" Charmander responds shooting a flamethrower at his face. Ash coughs out smoke from his face while he falls on the floor. "Owch that is one spicy flamethrower!" Ash says as he was getting up. "Hey why you do that to me?" Ash says. "Charmander Char! (I did it because you got too close to my personal spot and you scared me as well.)" "Anyway why are you here?" Ash says. "Charmander Char Char! (My trainer said for me to wait here and he will return, so I promised to stay here. Also I've been here for at least yesterday.)" Charmander responds. "Oh your trainer left you here?" Ash said. "Char... Char! (Yea... Wait you understand me???)" Charmander responds surprised. "Yep long story so I won't talk about it." Ash says as he backs away. "Well hope your trainer finds you!" Ash says as he came back to his friends and continued his journey. "Char... (Okay...)"

Ash and his friends walk to their destination and notices that it is starting to rain and sees a Pokemon Center in the road. "Oh what luck! I am coming Nurse Joy!" Brock says relieved and happy that Nurse Joy would be there. "Oh brother..." Misty says as she prepares to pull Brock away. "Hmm I wonder if that Charmander would be okay if it was raining..." Ash says as he heads to the Pokemon Center.

Ash arrives in the Pokemon Center and sees Brock already getting pulled away. Ash sighs, "Every time..." Ash and his friends give Nurse Joy their Pokemon so they can be healed. "Thank you Nurse Joy!" Ash and his friends say to Nurse Joy as they walk over to a table waiting for their Pokemon to be healed. Ash's friend Brock suspecting Ash as he sometimes talk to Pokemon most of the times. "Hey Ash I have a question." Brock says in a serious tone. "How do you talk to Pokemon?" "U-uh e-err I don't know what you are talking about hehe." Ash says stuttering. "Ash I perfectly heard through your conversations with Pokemon." Brock says suspecting Ash a lot more. "Yea Ash please tell us! So I can understand how you talk to Pokemon! Someday you gotta tell us your secret and show us how it's done!" Misty says staring at Ash close. "Oh alright alright, fine I will tell you." Ash says as he pulled his friends closer so no one could hear them talk. "Will you call me crazy if I told you that I can chat to Pokemon because I have a mysterious Power?" "I would say yes Ash," Brock says. "Me too," Misty says as well. "By the way why didn't you catch that Charmander on the rock?" "It was because I was chatting with it and it said it was left there by some trainer and said to come back when wanted to. I am afraid that, that Pokemon is still out there in the rain..." Ash says coldly. "Oh no! This is bad! Charmander are weak in the rain and if the flame on its tail disappears it will permanently faint!" Brock says shocking Ash and Misty. "We'd better go help that poor Pokemon! Quick!" Misty states as she prepares to go into the rain. "Let's go!" Ash says as he runs in the rain. Ash and his friends quickly runs in the rain like they are running away from hunters. 

While back with the Charmander...

Some bushes rustle nearby Charmander. "Char? Char! (Hey? who's there!)" Charmander says as he wraps himself into a ball protecting himself from the rain. "Spearow! (Hey look at this loser!)" The Pokemon said in the bushes. "Spear! Row! (Yea look at this loser! Let's give him a beating to show how strong we are!)" The Pokemon from the bushes revealed themselves as Spearow. They came out and starting using Peck to attack Charmander as Charmander did nothing to fight back because it was too weak from the rain.

Ash and his friends find the Charmander being attacked. Ash was angered that the Spearow were attacking Charmander, so he picked up a rock and threw it hard towards the Spearow. It missed and Spearow noticed Ash and started to charge at him. Brock covered Ash by using a blanket he brought with him to flap the Spearow away. The Spearow were angry by their actions and charged at both of them with a Peck attack, luckily Misty brought out her Staryu and shot a water gun to scare off the Pokemon. "SPEAR! Row! (OWCH! Let's get out of here!)" The flock of Spearow flown away in the wind leaving a wounded Charmander on the rock with a flame on its tail about to disappear. "QUICK COVER THE FLAME!" Brock says. "Okay!" Ash says in a very serious tone. "Hurry! Let's go back to the Pokemon Center!" Brock says demanding. "Alright let's go Staryu!" Misty says as she returns her Pokemon and runs to the Pokemon Center with Ash and Brock ahead of her.

Ash and his friends made it safe back to the Pokemon Center. Ash and Brock ran into the Pokemon Center causing everyone in the Pokemon Center to look at them. "NURSE JOY! We need your help!" Brock said being serious carrying the Charmander with Ash. "Hurry! Bring him here!" Nurse Joy said seriously as well. Brock and Ash brought the Charmander to the rolling bed. Chansey rolled the bed to the surgery room as soon as possible. Ash felt nervous waiting for Charmander to recover from surgery, Brock and Misty felt the same as well. "I really hope Charmander makes it. I makes me feel sad and angry that the trainer didn't keep his promise and left his Charmander out there for no perfect reason." Ash says as he squeezes his fists hard. "I hope so too Ash." Brock says. "How cruel can one trainer be? Allowing his Charmander to stay there for almost eternity?!" Misty says furious. 

Ash and his friends hears a conversation nearby...

"Hehe I know I am the best trainer in the world." ??? says. "Yea you are." Trainer 1 says. "You even put up to that weak Charmander that you had." Trainer 2 says. "Yea yea, How weak is that little thing is?" Trainer 3 says. "It's pretty weak, wait no... INSANELY weak! Haha!" ??? says laughing while the other Trainers were laughing as well. "Yep, I told that weakling to stay there on that same rock and it trusted me can you believe that? Yea it trusted me to leave it behind, the truth is that I left it there to abandon it since our first battle," "Wow! did you!" Trainer 2 says. " Yep, I remembered the first day like yesterday... I was in a battle and I lost to a Bulbasaur can you believe that?" ??? says. "No way!" Trainer 3 says. "I lost because of my charmander was too weak to work with me. I trained it the best I could, but still no effort, even to a type advantage!" ??? says angry. "Wow! Really!" Trainer 1 says. "Yea really!" ??? says. "Hey!" Ash says butting in as Ash's friends follow. "Huh? Who are you?" ??? says annoyed. "I am Ash! And you left that Charmander that was badly wounded?" Ash says very furious. "I am Damian! Oh that little pest that you brought in? Yep so what? You gonna beat me up?" Damian says standing taller than Ash trying to show Ash that he was the tougher one. "Yes..." Ash says surprising his friends. "Don't do it Ash!" Brock says preparing to pull him back. "But in a Pokemon battle!" Ash says as Brock sighs in relief that he was not going to harm anyone. "You and me? Oh no I already know who's the winner so there is no point in battling you." Damian said. "What scared?" Ash says triggering Damian. "What did you say?" Damian says gripping his fists. "Let's battle One on One! But tomorrow morning!" Ash says. "Fine I will, but I know who will win." Damian said feeling super confident. "Yea you show him Damian!" Trainer 1 says. "Yea!" Trainer 2 and 3 said together.

Ash and his friends hears the ding showing that the surgery is done. Ash and his friends head over to Nurse Joy to see if Charmander is okay. "Charmander made it through surgery. He should be okay after he gets some rest for the night." Nurse Joy says. "Whew thanks Nurse Joy." Ash says. "What happened to him?" Nurse Joy asks. "Oh Charmander stayed out in the rain waiting for it's trainer to come get him." Ash says. "Oh my that is just insane!" Nurse Joy says. "Thanks to Brock we were able to carry Charmander to the Pokemon Center." Ash says praising Brock for his great work. "Oh! Thank you Brock for helping this Pokemon as well!" Nurse Joy says. Brock was blushing from the compliment from Nurse Joy. "O-oh it wasn't anything!" Brock stutters for words. "It was something! You saved a life!" Nurse Joy said smiling. Brock was overfilled with happiness as soon as he saw that smile knowing that she either liked him or liked what he did. "Oh Nurse Joy! I hope that we can get to know each other a lot more... OUCH! OUCH!" Brock says, but interrupted by Misty. "You did so well, but try to be more polite in front of who you like!" Misty says pulling Brock's ear. Ash sighed even though looked into the air thinking if... "I wonder if I am able to beat Damian?" Ash said to himself as he noticed how tough he was acting. "Whatever I just have to hit him with everything I have!" Ash said to himself as he was gripping his fists.
