Chapter 19 - A Battle In Celadon Gym

Ash and his friends arrived in Celadon City where Ash's Gym badge awaits. "Ash you are going to Challenge the Celadon City Gym?" Verity says. "Yea! So where else are you guys headed?" Ash says to Sorrel, Verity and Cross. "Well..." Verity says. "I am going to research Pokemon in the Johto Region!" Sorrel interrupts. "I am going to challenge the league Ash has told me about, and beat the gym leader in Pewter City!" Cross says. "Oh that Gym? I was the Gym leader there and now I am on a journey with Ash to become a Pokemon Breeder, My father Flint is taking care of the gym and the battles for me." Brock says to Cross. "Wow. That's great!" Cross says. "I'd better head off there quick!" Cross says waving bye. "Me too!" Sorrel says waving bye as well, but Verity is still here. "So Verity where are you headed off to?" Brock says. "Please leave I want Ash myself only." Misty thought to herself. "Well err... How could I put it..." Verity says nervous. Ash held her shoulder surprising Verity. "Don't worry I'll tell them." Ash says. "O-oh okay..." Verity says with a small blush. "Is Ash really this nice?" Verity thought to herself. "So this is how she started her journey..." Ash says telling them the story to the end. "WHAT!" Brock and Misty says at the same time. "Y-yep! I ran away from home to become a trainer!" Verity says. "Your parents must be scared that you went missing!" Brock says. "Yea!" Misty agrees with Brock. "Hey! Hey! Don't be so worried! I'm okay!" Verity says. "But don't you feel homesick?" Ash says. "Maybe..." Verity says. "Then you should go back home! And start your journey after you arrive at home." Ash says. "That... That's a great idea Ash!" Verity says with a wide smile with a bright blush across her cheek. "You're such a nice guy Ash! I hope I see you in the near future!" Verity says winking a heart at Ash. Since Ash was dense he didn't understand what that wink meant, but only seeing a friend in the near future. "Me too Verity!" Ash says with a smile and a thumbs up. "He is so handsome! I wish I could tell him how I feel! I'll tell him next time." Verity thought to herself. Ash heard and wanted to know what she meant next time. "Well... Time to go to the Gym!" Ash says. "Hey Ash do you know where the Gym is?" Brock says. "Nope! But I will look for it in the map over here!" Ash says pointing towards a map. "Oh!" Brock says surprised that Ash was one step ahead of him. Ash looked at the map and knew where to go. Ash and his friends head to the Gym.

"Here it is!" Ash says as he sniffed the air a little. "Ah... There is a smell in here that is like flowers." Ash says. "I think that's perfume... OH WOW!" Brock says as he find a pretty lady headed in the gym. "Wait for me Brock!" Ash says chasing Brock in the gym. Misty sighs, "Here we go again." Misty says. Ash and his friends headed in the Gym. Ash sees a counter and walked up to it. "Hey miss? Do you know where I can find the gym leader here?" Ash says. "Oh hello there!" The lady says. "Can you help me?" The lady says as she points at Brock right by her. "OUCH OUCH OUCH!" Brock says in pain from Misty pulling his ear. "Stop it Brock were here to see Ash's gym battle." Misty states. "Thank you miss! However you and this boy here Ash looks like a couple!" The lady says with a smile. "Eh!? N-no were not!" Misty says blushing. "What's a couple? A couple of people?" Ash says. The lady was shocked to hear that Ash doesn't know what a couple is. "Wow you don't know?" The lady says. "Nevermind about couples and stuff, can you please tell me where I can find the gym leader? I want to have an official gym battle with him or her." Ash says getting straight to the point. "Oh sorry she is in the gym's battlefield." The lady says pointing in the direction. "Oh thank you! I'll be on my way." Ash says waving bye to her. Ash headed in the direction the lady pointed at, Brock and Misty follows Ash. Ash goes in as well as Brock and Misty does too, and sees a very beautiful greenhouse with Pokemon living inside. "Woah!" Ash and his friends say amused of the greenhouse. "This is pretty big! Oh! And enough to have a battle here!" Brock says as he points over to the Battlefield in the middle. "Wow a battle here would be fascinating!" Ash says. "Yes it would." A woman says as she comes out of the other side of the battlefield and welcomes the trainer. "Which one of you are here to battle me?" The woman says. "I am! I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town! What's yours?" Ash says bowing down to her like she was a queen. "Such a gentleman! I am Erika the Gym leader of Celadon City Gym." She says bowing to Ash and her friends. "WOW She's pretty!" Brock says. "Brock you say that to every woman, I think they'll get bored of you saying that over and over..." Misty says as she sighs. "Oh..." Brock says feeling down. "It's okay Brock! By the way Erika your gym smells like flowers and you too!" Ash says with a smile. "Oh thanks!" Erika says with a little blush on her face. "Can we start our battle please?" Ash says. "Yes we can step over here." Erika says. "Okay!" Ash says as he headed to the trainer's box. The lady Ash saw in the entrance came in the greenhouse. "I'll referee." The lady says. "This is an Official Gym Battle, this will be a 2 against 2 Pokemon battle! Only the challenger is able to substitute a Pokemon! Trainers please send out your Pokemon!" The lady refereeing said.
