Song:Rly Real by Blackbear
"Tell me girl,
Is it really feeling like the feeling ain't right?
And all them other dudes you've been hanging round lame as hell
Look 'em up and down
Girl this ain't right
I just wanna taste you,
I just wanna get you high."

Ella Hayden made her way to school, alone, with her headphones blasting Claw by Motörhead loudly into her ears. She tapped her fingers against her hip rhythmically.
By the time she reached school, the song had changed to Mean Machine on her cassette player and she was immediately reminded of the conversation she had previously had with Patrick Hockstetter, including the deal they had made. The tall boy made his way over to her and pulled the earphones off of her head.
"Good morning, Ella." He gave her a smirk and slipped his clammy hand around her wrist, pulling her away from the area close to the doors, which was now filled with students.
"The time has come for you to fulfil your half of the bargain. No backing out now, cupcake." Patrick twisted a small section of her hair around his long index finger, his gaze focussed on it. She pulled it away from his grasp and moved away from him slightly.
Ella raised her eyebrows, urging him to continue and propose to her the plan he had formulated.
"As I understand, Henry has been trynna get into your pants for the past five weeks. I also know that neither your, nor me, want that. So, I have a solution that will kill two birds with one stone." He explained, leaving her even more inquisitive than before. She became increasingly worried as to what this plan could possibly be. Why did it concern him that Henry Bowers was attempting to get with her, a girl that he had barely even spoken to before?
"If Henry knew that you had a boyfriend, he wouldn't bother you anymore, right?" Patrick grinned, contempt that the simple explanation was all that was necessary to reveal his intentions. Ella rolled her eyes. As much as she liked the idea of Patrick Hockstetter attempting to find her a boyfriend, she couldn't help but wonder what was in it for him. Not only that, but the plan would most definitely not work...unless....
"Absolutely yes. He would probably bother me even more." She crossed her arms over her chest, clearly demonstrating her irritation. His wide smile didn't alter.
"I see your point. But, my darling Ella, what if that boyfriend was me?" He grasped her right hand in his left and rubbed circles on the back of it with his thumb. She pulled her hands away, frowned and shook her head.
"I don't know if this is some kind of joke or something—"
Stepping closer, he grabbed both of her hands in his. "We don't have to actually be together, I'll just pretend to be your boyfriend to get Henry off your back." He interlocked their fingers and raised his eyebrows, hopefully.
She narrowed her eyes, remaining in his hold, "And what's in it for you?" Ella chewed the inside of her cheek, once she'd finished speaking.
Patrick scanned her body with his hungry eyes, then looked back to her face and bit his bottom lip, "I get to call Derry's hottest piece of ass my girlfriend." He smirked, causing her to widen her eyes.
Ella sighed and looked over at Henry Bowers, who had a fistful of a younger student's shirt, crumpled in his fist. A look of pure rage was set on his face, as usual, reminding her of the importance of avoiding him.
"Fine." She suddenly said, "but it needs to be believable. When do we start?" She looked into the dark eyes of the taller boy, through her long lashes. He looked back at her, inappropriately imagining her looking up at him like that, just a little lower down.
"We start now." He said under his breath. He lifted her hand to his mouth and pressed a wet kiss onto the back of it. She tried her best to act as if the gesture was pleasant and smiled, looking over to Henry, who she saw was looking right back at them, his mouth wide open.
As the weeks progressed, so did Patrick and Ella's relationship. Henry, after seeing the two together had completely abandoned any hope of himself and Ella being an item and therefore decided to leave her alone. Had it been anyone other than Patrick Hockstetter, Henry would've caused some sort of uproar in the relationship and persisted even more to try and win her over. But it was Patrick Hockstetter, and so he stayed well away.
Ella Hayden sat in the stuffy, dull chemistry lab in Derry High School with a black pen between her lips and her eyes focussed on the rambling teacher, Mr Henley, who stood at the front. She suddenly felt a warm, large hand against her waist. From the chair to her right, Patrick squeezed her lightly and rested his chin on the opposite shoulder to where his hand was. His warm breath spread across her cheek, causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand, as she shivered.
"How about me and you go to the Aladdin tonight? I heard The Night Visitor is amazing." He whispered, his hand travelling to her thigh and moving below the edge of her black skirt. He rubbed smooth circles on the exposed skin of her leg.
She looked to him with a frown, then let out a confused chuckle. She had thought the relationship was strictly for show. A date was the last thing she expected.
Patrick's face fell to hurt, as she giggled. Any girl who usually turned him down in such a way would regret it soon after when he got his revenge, but he felt no sort of rage when she impolitely declined.
"Funny joke, Patrick." She said with a grin.
"It wasn't—I uh—I thought—" Patrick stuttered, attempting to find a reasonable explanation for the unusual proposal.
Ella shook her head with another chuckle and once again dismissed his offer.
For the rest of the day, Patrick seemed off. Having noticed, Ella rethought his invitation as a serious proposal and completely changed her mind. Perhaps it wasn't such a terrible idea, after all. Not only would it make their relationship more realistic, she had to get used to spending time around him for the time being.
"Hey! Patrick!" Ella shouted, as she saw her boyfriend leaving the school's front doors. She jogged to catch up with him, as he didn't respond to her call. She pulled him to the side by his wrist and held onto both of his arms with her small hands. "I know I kind of turned you down earlier...and I'm sorry. How about we go and see a double feature of Night Visitor and the new Friday the 13th movie?" She looked up to him with a sweet, closed mouth smile. Patrick's eyes lit up and a grin spread onto his previously moody face. He placed a hand on the side of her face and suddenly leaned in, pressing his lips to hers. Ella was stunned at first, but began kissing back. She couldn't help but notice that this was a slightly strange gesture. The two of them only usually kissed in front of Henry, but this time he was nowhere to be seen. This time felt different...more—passionate.
The two of them pulled away and smiled at each other—an unusually genuine smile. For the first time, Ella was seeing Patrick in a new light. She saw, now, not dark eyes, but pools of emotion. It was not a smirk that he had on his lips, but a sweet smile. She realised that he was a much better, more amazing person than she ever imagined. And he wasn't her fake boyfriend, not for long.
"Patrick..." he nodded, "Be my boyfriend—for real this time."
Patrick gave her a smile once again and leaned in for another kiss. She needed no further confirmation.

The End.
