__"i'll see you later, tae."
"alright, go get your boyfriend back," taehyung teased as jimin rolled his eyes.
the latter stepped out and inhaled the humid air. with his hands in his pockets, he strolled down the sidewalk without paying attention to his surroundings. his shoulder made contact with another and caused the person he bumped into to fall backward.
"oh my god! i'm so sorry!" jimin apologized, lending a hand to the male.
"jimin." the stranger's voice sounded very familiar. "it's fine, don't apologize."
the older gasped. "jungkook?"
the said male glanced upwards with a weak smile. "it's me."
the man in front of jimin did not look like the jungkook he fell in love with. this jungkook looked so dull and depressed compared to the past bright and cheery jungkook.
"i'm gonna go."
"please wait, hyung," he begged, lightly clutching onto jimin's wrist. "i need to talk to you."
the older gulped. "s-sure, kookie."
"hyung, i never cheated on you. yes, you saw yugyeom with me, but i didn't kiss back, i swear. i shoved him and yelled at him for violating me before i tried to find you. when i came home, that's when we had our argument and then you left me. i loved you, hyung. i still love you so much, but i understand if you won't forgive me. i just wanted to say sorry for not pushing yugyeom away faster and sorry for not running after you," jungkook finished his confession with a shaky voice. "goodbye, jimin."
"no! don't go!" jimin shrieked as he clung to the younger's back. "i forgive you! i should've let you explain yourself, god, i'm so sorry, kook. i shouldn't have lashed out on you like that. i'm still in love with you, kook. i love you."
they held eye contact for a moment before jungkook meshed their lips together. jimin was surprised by the action, but melted into the kiss like a popsicle in the sun. there was no tongue, teeth clashing, or groping included; it was just a simple, sweet, passionate kiss. the younger reluctantly pulled away first and watched as a thin string of saliva connected their lips together.
"sorry, hyung. i shouldn't have done that."
the older blushed. "no, actually. . .i liked that. but what was the surprise you were talking about?"
"i was gonna take you out to a beach and propose to you there, but then you saw yugyeom and i, so. . ."
"you were going to propose?"
"yeah," jungkook admitted. "we could've been married right now."
"well, maybe we can have another chance at that. we can start over. just say the magic words."
"park jimin, will you do the honor of being my boyfriend. . .again?"
jimin giggled. "of course, daddy."
jungkook growled lowly. "you better watch your tongue, baby. i might take you right here on the sidewalk," he joked.
"kookie, can i have my necklace back?"
the younger clipped the necklace around his neck like he did many years ago. "thank you for giving me another chance, babe."
"i just couldn't function without you in my life."
