-Toby's POV-

"Well, now I know not to mess with you. You're low enough to throw BEN Drowned into the water!" I laughed, giving her a playful glance. She grinned and tackled me, "I'm also low enough to..." she began, using her wings to tickle my sides. "N-no! Not a-again! Why!" i yelped quickly before breaking down into a long fit of laughter, I tried to push her away multiple times but she dodged. "S-stop! Please!" I gasped, my face flushing a deep red. Lex giggled, letting me up. I made a small snowball when her back was turned, then flung it at her right wing. She yipped like a small dog and turned to me. I smirked, reaching to make another one. "Bad idea!" she laughed, throwing five snowballs from the air. "No fair!" I wined, running into the trees, "You have the equivalent of five hands!" I yelled behind me as I darted from tree to tree. I found a knot in a tree, just big enough for me to fit in. I lept in just as Lex landed in front of me, facing the opposite direction. "Come on...just a little closer..." I thought, waiting in the darkness. My wish was answered as she began to walk away from the tree. I lept out quietly, getting ready to leap onto her shoulders. "Surprise!" I yelled, leaping toward her. She turned at the last moment and we tumbled across the forest floor for a few seconds, eventually ending with me pinning her down. We both laughed for a few minutes, then I leaned down a little more and gave her a small kiss. She stopped laughing and blushed slightly, smiling. I did the same, standing and helping her up. We began to walk in the direction of the lake, which had become our own little hang-out spot. Once we got there, the moon peaked out from the rims of the distant hills, illuminating me and Lex as we stood mesmerised by the rippling waves. Lex was the first to break from the trance, glancing to me. I turned my head to smile at her for a moment, then gave her another peck on the cheek before sitting down on a small log. Lex came over and sat next to me and I heard her sigh slightly. "What's wrong?" I asked, putting my arm around her shoulder. She sighed, "Sometimes I just wish I could stand on my hind legs without having to crawl around on all fours all the time. Sometimes I just want hands, I'll take scaly with claws but just...hands..." I nodded and held her close, "I could talk to Slender, maybe he has an answer? But about the walking on two legs, I can help with that easily." She lifted her gaze to meet mine, her eyes sparkling with pure joy. "Really? You'd do that?" She said softly. I pulled her into a hug, "Of course I would. First key to walking on two legs is balance." I said, helping her up. She wobbled a bit at first, but didn't take long to warm up to the concept. I ushered her to take a step forward, holding her 'hand' gently. She did, nearly falling over in the process. "Try using your wings to steady yourself." She nodded, unfurling her wings and spreading them out behind her. She almost fell again, gripping my arm tightly. Her talons dug into my arms, but it didn't hurt. She did what I suggested, using her wings to steady herself. Soon, she wasn't holding my arm. A few minutes later she didn't need to use her wings. I noticed she had two leg joints, that must have been why it was so hard for her to stand. We eventually walked back to the mansion, Jack and BEN were the first to greet us. "Hey Toby, Hey L-" Jack cut off, putting down his book for once. BEN paused his game, walking over to where we were standing. "What's going on here?" He said, staring at Lex. "She wants to be more like other people." I said, walking her upstairs. I knocked on Slender's door, waiting in the hall. "Come in." I opened the door and walked in, Lex not a moment behind. "What can I do for you, child?" Slender said, sitting down in one of his chairs and gesturing for us to take a seat as well. "Well...I was wondering if you could help Lex with something very important to her." I said, glancing at Lex. "Well, what is it?" He asked, glancing to her. "Well, I just was wondering if maybe...I could have actual hands...I don't care if they're scaly with claws, I just want hands..." She murmered. Slender nodded, thinking it over. "Well...If it's very important to you..." He began. Lex shot out of her seat and gave him a huge hug, "ThankyouthankyouthankyouSlender!" She yelled. I smiled, "Do you need anything from me, Slender?" He shook his head, "No, but please give me a few minutes." He said. I hesitated, then nodded and walked to the door.

As long as Lex was happy.
