Tord splashed some water on his face to clear his head. He heard the shower curtain slide open loudly, making him jump in fear. Inside the bathtub was an unamused looking Patryk, glaring directly at him. Tord swallowed a breath.
"Patryk? I didn't know you were invited to this party." Tord asked.
"I wasn't," Patryk replied. "Which is why I'm wearing this ... clever disguise." The tall brunette stood up to show off his costume, which was just a black long sleeve with 'CREEPS' written on the front.
"You're speechless," Patryk commented, more seriousness in his tone than usual. "Squip got your tongue?"
"No, um, it's off." Tord responded.
"That would explain why you're talking to me." Patryk spat, a new venomous sound in his voice.
"You know, I was thinking about this moment, what I was gonna say to you," Patryk continued. "I had this really pissed off monologue, an epic journey through twelve years of friendship," Tord clenched his fist in anger and embarrassment. Patryk noticed. "What."
"No, it's just ... really great to see you man." Tord tried to play it off and pretend that he hadn't been ignoring his best friend.
"Well it won't be when you hear what I found out." Patryk glared at Tord intensely.
"Found out about ...?" Tord shrugged his shoulders as a gesture to tell him. Patryk simply pointed at his head in reply. But that was all Tord needed.
"But how, there's nothing on the internet about ..." Tord rolled his eyes in disbelief.
"Which is weird right?" Patryk interrupted. "Like, what's not on the internet nowadays? So I started asking around, and finally, this guy I play World of Warcraft with told me his brother went from a straight D student to a freshman at Harvard. Do you know where he is now?"
"Probably really happy and successful." Tord answered.
"He's in a mental hospital." Patryk corrected darkly. "Totally lost it."
"I don't see was that had to do with-" Tord tried to reply, but he was cut off.
"Think, man! We're talk an insanely powerful super computer. Do you think its primary function is to get you laid?" Patryk asked. "Who made them? How did they end up in a high school? In Cloudberry?"
"Of all possible applications for such a mind blowingly advanced technology, do you ever wonder what it's doing inside you?" Patryk inquired.
"And I thought Terra was jealous." Tord growled.
"I'm honestly asking." Patryk hissed.
"Oh really? Because I think you're just pissed, that I have one and you don't." Tord shot back.
"Oh come on." Patryk retorted.
"Hey maybe I got lucky, looking at my history, I'd say that the universe owed me one. And look, I don't know about your 'friend's brother' or whatever, but if you're telling me that the Squip made him crazy-" Tord was cut off again.
"The Squip didn't make him crazy." Patryk shouted.
"Alright there we go-" Tord was cut off once more.
"He went crazy trying to get it out!" Patryk yelled angrily. That was the first time Tord had seen the tall brunette angry in years.
Tord narrowed his eyes. "Well, then," he began to walk towards the door. "I have nothing to worry about. Why would I want that-"
Patryk blocked the exit.
"Come on man, move it." Tord ordered, the tension getting even thicker.
