Author's POV :
Laurent ran after Larry. Larry ran to his car; quickly turned on the engine and pulled out in full speed.

"LARRY!" Laurent shouted as he watched Larry drive away.

Laurent ran into the parking lot. His car was located on the fourth floor. When Larry arrived to their home, he ran upstairs to the bedroom. He quickly loaded up two suitcases of clothes. While carrying the suitcases down the apartment stairs, he found himself short winded. He through his belongings in the car and drove off.

Moments later, Laurent pulled up to the apartment.

"Larry! Larry! Baby!" Laurent called out as he looked around.

Laurent thought it was strange that nothing in the place.

"Damn!" Laurent yelled as he realized Larry had moved out.

Larry drove to the other side of town and checked into a hotel. Larry slowly walked into the room. He dropped his things at the door and flopped on the bed. The sight of Laurent and Brenda are played over and over again. Larry buried his face into his hands and cried.

Laurent called Larry many times; but Larry ignored or declined the calls. But Laurent didn't let ignore calls stop him. Since Laurent knew where Larry worked, Laurent stopped by during Larry's lunch break. Laurent found Larry having lunch in one of the hospital gardens.

"Hey, you." Laurent softly said.

Larry quickly turned around and frowned at Laurent .

"What are you doing here?" Larry questioned.
"I miss you and I wanted to let you know I never slept with Brenda...Or brendon." Laurent said.
"Is that it? I gotta get back to work. Excuse me." Larry upsettingly replied and walked away from Laurent.
"Babe, please." Laurent sadly said as Larry ignore him and returned inside the hospital.

Laurent exhaled roughly and left the hospital. A few day later, a patient had checked into Larry's unit. A seat alarm was placed under the patient fir being a fall risk. Larry was assigned to this patient. When the alarm went off, Larry ran down the hallway to the room.

Once Larry entered the room, he found the patient on the edge of the bed.

"Oh my...Mr. Berg please sit still. I'm going to slightly move you." Larry said in a panic.

The patient appear to be resisting assistance. The patient slowly turned his head; facing Larry. Larry's jaw dropped as he yelled,

"Laurent! What the hell?"
"Larry? Oh thank god it's you." Laurent slurred.
"Damnit! It's over between us." Larry upsettingly reminded Laurent.
"Please, listen. It's the only way I can see you." Laurent begged under sedation.
"You got five minutes." Larry firmly expressed.
"Babe, I know what you saw looked bad. Real bad. I shouldn't of let it get that far...period. In the moment, I panicked and ...I was trying to stop her...him...I don't know. I didn't sleep with Brenda. I'm not attracted to her ...at all. Brenda came on to me. I swear on my life ...you're the only man...I...I'll ever love. Please, come home." Laurent explained while continuing to slur his words.

Larry's eyes filled up with tears. Larry tightly hugged Laurent and whispered,

"I miss you so much. I'll come back home."

Suddenly, Laurent's face froze. Larry kissed Laurent all over his face.

"I can't feel anything." Laurent said without moving any muscles in his face.
"Oh my god. Your face is numb." Larry replied and chuckled.

Larry discovered that Laurent had switched files with another patient. Larry return home to work on his relationship with Laurent. One morning, Larry woke from his cellphone alarm. He rolled over to Laurent; laying by his side. Larry pecked his forehead and got out of bed. Laurent woke up an mumbled,

"Where you going, babe?"
"I gotta go handle something real quick. I'll be right back." Larry replied and kissed Laurent's lips.
"Okay, I love you." Laurent said and kissed Larry back.
"I love you too. Get some rest." Larry replied while putting on a shirt.

After Larry got dressed, he drove to the downtown area. When he arrived at the destination, he took a moment in car to reassure his decision. Larry got out the car and walked into a law firm company. He approached the receptionist and politely said,

"Hi, I'm Larry Cook. I have a ten o clock appointment."

The receptionist smiled and replied,

"One moment please."

After the receptionist checked the computer, she said,

"Yes. You're all set. Take the elevator to the third floor, go to room 305. Have a good day."
"Thank you." Larry replied and followed the directions.

When Larry arrived to room 305, he knocked and waited to be welcomed in.

"Come in, Mr. Cook" Brenda answered.

Larry walked into the office and stood firmly. Brenda recognized Larry right away.

"What's up Brenda? I got just one thing to say to you. Stay away from my man." Larry said.

Brenda confidently walked around the desk and replied,

"Look! I don't know what this is all about. But..."

Larry interrupted Brenda and slapped her in the face. Brenda flew backwards on the desk and fell on the floor. Larry walked around the desk and kneeled down the Brenda's level.

"Like..I..said..stay away from my man" Larry firmly said and left the office.

Brenda held her cheek and watched Larry leave in fear. As Larry walked to the elevator, people stuck their heads out the hallway to check out what was going on. When Larry exited the firm, He called Laurent and said,

"I'm on my way back home. I love you babe."
"I love you too." Laurent replied and ended the call.
