How did he become an engineer in the first place?!
"Good evening, Architect Ayo," He handed a hand to Kyrie.
Kyrie gladly took it, "Good evening, Engineer Rivero. It's nice to see you here,"
"You too," Matipid na reply niya sabay baling sa akin.
I internally screamed at myself to wake up and I did. Nang itinapat niya sa akin ang kamay niya ay pilit kong kinalma ang nag wawala kong puso.
"Good evening, Architect Ayo," Malamig niyang bati nang tanggapin ko ang kamay niya.
Kumunot ang noo ko. Kasabay ng pag putol niya sa interaction namin.
Architect Ayo? Ayo ako?
Bigla kong natandaan ang plano namin ni Kyrie noong debut year namin sa pagiging Architect.
"Oh! I'm sorry, Engineer. It seems like the news didn't get to you," tito Felix was the one who apologized.
"These two planned it all out. They made a stunt for the press to spread rumors that they're married," tito Architect explained.
"Rumors? I thought it's true?" Kunot noong tanong ni Ricci.
"I'm sorry, Engineer Rivero. My daughter here isn't married to Architect Ayo nor to someone else," Daddy formally notified.
Agad siyang bumaling sa akin at halos mag yelo ako sa titig niya.
"But we're finding someone good, though!" tita Katherine said cheerfully.
Ramdam ko ang pag higpit ng hawak ni Kyrie sa bewang ko. Tinignan ko siya dahil doon pero sinuklian niya lang ako ng ngiti.
Tumango ako at muling bumaling sa taong nasa harap ko. Tumingin siya saming dalawa ni Kyrie pero agad ring umiwas ng tingin nang makita niya kung asan ang kamay ni Kyrie.
"Anyway, we're going to roam around. You, lady and gentlemen, enjoy," tito Architect excused themselves.
He smiled politely to the elders but then he immediately turned to his cold self again when he looked at me.
What happened to you?
"You're still fond of the idea?" He asked in a cold matter.
Taas noo ko siyang tinignan, "What idea?"
Kyrie's hand left on my waist. Agad itong lumipat sa likod ko na para bang inaalalayan ako.
"You have no say on marrying someone for business?" He sarcastically asked.
Dumungaw siya sa kamay ni Kyrie na nandoon ngunit agad siyang nag iwas ng tingin.
"I don't have any comments about it nor I am fond of it, Engineer... Rivero," Diniin ko ang pagka-tawag ko sa kanya.
His face lit up.
"Oh, I haven't greeted you properly," He said like he was teasing me, "Good evening, Architect Melecio,"
Pormal akong tumango, "Good evening, Engineer Rivero,"
Tumango siya. I even saw his ghost smile as he nodded at us. As if he was testing my patience.
"Well, I have to get going. I'm looking forward to work with you, Architect," He winked.
Tumango siya kay Kyrie at muling bumaling sa akin ng huling beses bago umalis ng tuluyan.
