You could hear the cheers and trumpets throughout Minas Tirith, today was truly a day to celebrate, the heroes of the war were returning to Gondor for a grand celebration. Legolas stood on the balcony overlooking the city, he couldn't wait to see his friends again but he couldn't help feeling that something terrible was coming, however he refused to say anything to ruin Aragorns happiness. Running the kingdom had taken its toll on his husband and he very rarely got to enjoy anything so Legolas decided he wasn't going to take this away from him.

He heard his friend before he seen him, a loud booming voice carried up the long corridor, Legolas turned with a grin on his face at the sight of the dwarf heading towards him.
"Hahaha you haven't changed at all my friend" Gimli boomed as he pulled Legolas down for a hug, "you've gotten old" Legolas laughed in return.
As the elf and dwarf caught up on their lives and continued the age long argument about who killed the most orcs, Aragorn was elsewhere meeting more old friends.

Its been like 4 years since I started this story, don't know if anyone is still interested but thought I'd give it a go, so let me know what you think.
