I have figured it out!
I figured out why Yume is seen as such an idiot on some fanfics! After some investigating it all makes sense! It's because of one person ... Ichigo Hoshimiya.
As some of you may or may not know, I started of the Aikatsu fandom on Aikatsu Stars so I really didn't have much knowledge about the original characters. But recently I've been getting into the original Aikatsu (mostly season 3 cause I love Akari) but I've seen now that those who started Aikatsu by watching Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran on their computer screens (phone, tablet, whatever) that they have implanted Ichigo's rather dense personality into Yume!
That fun naive character, people loved her, and it seems that some fans were having trouble seeing the difference between Yume and Ichigo.
It might have to do with Yume's appetite that honestly it resembles my own (XD) but I wouldn't call either of us a glutton because of that. However, from what I've seen, the Sterotype I once believed Yume to be in was in fact just Ichigo. I have seen the first two seasons of Aikatsu and I know that Ichigo (although is a wonderful character and I do love her, but ..) she can be a bit on the dumb side and does seem to have her mind on food most of the time. Don't get me wrong, still an amazing character, but her minor flaws should not be what we put onto Yume.
Yume's eating habits and lack of popular knowledge isn't something to be focused on. And fanfic or not it shouldn't be represented like it has either.
My suspicions were even confirmed when one of my subjects called Yume - and I quote - "a frickn' strawberry" on another fanfic. Strawberry, as in the translate from the Japanese word "Ichigo"?
Yume isn't an idiot, she is hard working and has her eyes fixated on who or what she admires. Maybe I'm saying all this just cause I relate to her, I dunno. You tell me.
