Silence ensued. Then Hermione yelled 'yes!' Then she kissed him squarely on the mouth. Draco stumbled back, slightly surprised.
'Well, that was enthusiastic,' Draco laughed.
Hermione took a deep breath and said 'Even though I always appeared to hate you, I've secretly had a crush on you since fourth year. I've imagined this moment for a very, very, long time. Honestly, the thought of you was the only thing that kept me going through the war.'
'How did this compare to your fantasy?'
'It's even better than anything I could imagine,' she smiled.
'And why is that?' he asked.
'Because it's real' she whispered.
Draco pulled her close to him and whispered back 'And it always will be, May.'
Hermione sunk into his embrace and said sadly 'We should probably head back,'
'Yeah. Eventually, just not now. A little bit longer.'
They had sat in silence for a long while when Hermione fell asleep. Draco picked her up bridal style and apparated them back to their room. As he laid her down he whispered 'I love you, Hermione."
But little did he know, she was still half-awake. As he left to change she whispered, 'I love you too, Draco.'

'Hermione. Hermione, wake up,' Draco said as he shook her shoulder.
'What? What time is it,' Hermione drowsily said.
'It's two a.m., but I figured you might want to change out of your dress.'
'Yeah, thanks.'
Once she changed, she crawled into bed once more. Hermione fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. All was well.

I know it's been a long time since I updated but I did! I have a good reason though, first I had finals then I was in the mountains of New Mexico.
