The Saved Lives

Chapter 2

The very next day I went out for a walk along the road going towards Ithaca, a road called County Highway N. It took you to either State Highway 130 or State Highway 58. Anyways I say Jevan Ryan, a 2nd grader outside playing on a little swing set.

Jevan: Hi who are you

Brett: Remember I am Brett the guy who walks past your house every day

Jevan: Oh yeah well bye

He went into the house grabbing his mother

?: Hi Brett

Brett: Ho Miss Ryan nice day isn't it

Miss Ryan: Yeah except there's a huge storm coming....well I better board up the windows

She went into the house and I seen black clouds to the west.

Brett: I better get home and help

I ran back home and I went down to the barn to check on everything. The storm was only fifty miles away, less than an hour away. I looked inside the barn and found a wolf with its cubs in very critical condition. I got close to it and it growled at me.

I went up to the house to get a couple of towels for the poor wolf. I carefully put the towels on the wolf's wound. It was still breathing and then I heard a voice.

?: Thanks for trying to help

Brett: Who said that

?: Who do you think said it

Brett: I can talk to wolves

?: Not just wolves my friend all animals in general Brett

Brett: How do you know my name

?: Everyone knows your father he is famous because of his father

Brett: My mysterious grandfather

?: Yeah

She was losing a lot of blood and I couldn't do anything about it

Brett: Alright I am going to attempt to carry you up to the house

?: There is no way you are not strong enough

Brett: I don't know

?: Take the cubs to the house first

Brett: Alright

I picked up the four cubs

?: Be good cubs I will be right there

She was losing it I quickly took the cubs to the house and then I went down to the barn.

Brett: Alright here we go

I picked her up and took her up to the house and set her down. The wolf was all white and I got some antibiotics to stick in the wound. I learned this from my father. I then put the towel over the wound.

?: Thanks

Robin: Neeli what happened

?: A hunter shot me

Robin: I know who come on Brett

Brett: Do that later we need to lock the cows up real quick

Robin: Alright fine

At that point the storm was only fifteen miles away.

Robin: Come on push

We pushed the gates shut and we went back up to the house and turned the tv on. The storm was nearly on top of us then the tv lost signal.

Neeli: Why'd you help me Brett

Brett: Because I love nature and I am not scared of helping animals

One of the cubs walked towards me and asked for attention, so did the other three. I let him up while the storm passed by.
