“We are now descending into LAX. Thank you for flying with us today. Please remain seated until the seatbelt sign goes off.” The over cheerful voice exclaimed over the intercom. I sat up in my chair and excitedly looked out of my window. We were finally home and I was so ready to see Chres. He hadn’t talked the him since yesterday morning but I emailed him my flight information. We taxied into the terminal and I jumped up quickly, grabbing my bag, and racing to the door. I walked out of the gate and immediately spotted Chres. He was standing near by, leaning against a pillar. My face broke out into a smile and I ran over to him, enveloping him into a hug. He laughed and hugged me back, lifting me off the floor.
“I missed you so much.” I gave him a kiss and he finally set me down, grabbing my bag. He swung his arm around my shoulders and led me to the baggage claim.
“I missed you too. It’s been really boring and quiet without you in the house.” He kissed the top of my head and stopped in front of the suitcase belt. The bags started streaming in and I spotted mine. I headed to grab it but a big hand grabbed it before I could. I looked up and Sam was holding it with a mischievous smirk on his face.
“I’m sorry is this yours?” He feigned being innocent and I pursed out my lips. I went to reach for it but he moved it out of my grasp. I reached for it again but he continued to move it, laughing at my attempts. I smiled and jumped for it again, finally getting a hold on one of the straps. He laughed again and set it down on the floor. He looked up and a smirk covered his face. I turned and saw an angry Chres walking in our direction. Without hesitation I grabbed the bag and met Chres before he could get to Sam.
“It’s fine Chres. Just forget about it. Let’s go home.” He continued to glare at Sam but started walking towards the door instead. I looked back at Sam and he just saluted me before grabbing his own bag. I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior and followed Chres to the car. The ride was quiet, the only sound coming from the radio playing. Chres had turned it up as soon as I got in the car and I knew it was his way of saying he didn’t want to talk. I just got back and he’s already mad about something. We were almost home when his phone went off. He fished it out of his pocket and checked the message. His face seemed to get angrier if possible and he threw his phone to the back seat, gripping the wheel tighter. Chres pulled up in the driveway and quickly got out, grabbing my bags. I followed behind him and watched as he set them down on the bed. He started heading back to the door and grabbed his arm.
“Where are you going?” He looked down at my hand and I let go, feeling like he had just burned me. He just shook his head and kissed my forehead.
“My boss texted. I have to work this week. I’ll see you later.” He grabbed his keys and headed out the door, not bothering to give me a second look. I let out sigh and went to unpack my bags. I don’t understand why he just won’t tell me that what happened at the airport bothered him. Or why he won’t even let me talk to him about it. Surprisingly it only took me an hour to unpack my bag. I grabbed my keys and drove over the Bre’s house, ready to see my best friend.
