(Fathers office)

Xavier's POV:

I walked down the halls, taking a few turns here and there. The plush carpet sank under my steps as I walked towards the office.

I've never been called to his office before, I'm not in trouble, right? I thought with uncertain feelings.

My fathers large, office door came into view. It was intricately carved with a copper plaque above it reading, "Prime Ministers Office."

What a great pointer of wear to rob dad, I thought as I rolled my eyes.

I mean for real, you just made a robbers job easier!

Whatever.

Back to the point. Father 'summoned' me to his office for some reason. It's only been a few weeks after my debut and my father has been interacting with me a lot.

Well, this is probably because mom has been on a trip to her friends estate, and she always hogs me.

Jeez, I'm making myself sound so arrogant. It's their choice, it's not like I like their smothering!

Okay, maybe a little.

*clears throat*

Getting off task again! So, I have been hanging out with my father, and he's decided to teach me swordsmanship, after I begged him.

Anyway, he's teaching me!
Of course I have to hold back some of my strength or else I'd be found out. Right now, he's just working me out, since my hands are too small to hold a real sword.

But he's working me so easy. I want more than ten pushups a day! But I can't blame him, I am a four year old. Anyway, I've arrived at his office.

'Knock, knock' I pounded on the door.

"Come in,"my fathers deep voice rang out.

I walked into the room and met him in the eyes. We stood for a minute staring into each other's eyes. I wavered first.

"Xavier," he started, "I have come across an opportunity."

His tone was strictly business, oh sh*t, this must be serious.

"An opportunity that allows you to get tutored by one of the top scholars."he continued.

Hey old man, that's my opportunity! MY TUTOR! God, it's like whatever happens to me is taken responsibility by them.

I felt my eye unconsciously twitch out of frustration.

Suppress the irritation.

SUPPRESS THE IRRITATION!

And, it's suppressed.

"A tutor right now?" I ask with obvious curiosity.

My father nods in confirmation. "His name is Jackson Illirea. He has 3 degrees in magic circles, magic incantations, and basic everyday skills."(for those of you that don't know, basic everyday skills are reading, writing, calculations, history, and sciences.)

"Oh," I say. He must be smart.

"So, what do you think?" He asks.

I put on a wry smile and said, "finally father! I've been itching to learn!"

His face lit up. And then I continued, "I'm gonna learn magic too, right?"

And his smile lessened.

"Sorry son, but I'm afraid a four year old doesn't have enough mana to cast a single spell. The best you could do is learn about the history."

Adults are so stereotypical. I'm not a normal four year old!

"Maybe when you get a bit older. Like ten." He says. I nod my head in understanding as I am still not ready to reveal my secret practices.

"He will be coming here within a months time, do your best, Okay son?" Father states.

"Of course," I say with a hearty grin plastered on my face. I left the room smiling, waiting in anticipation for when we will meet.

*************************

It's been a week since I found out about the tutor. I've officially finished 1/3 of the library. I can still use every magic, but I've been mostly focusing on the learning books. My favorite so far are the math books.

It also turns out that my father doesn't have any history books. It's sad really.

I already know I will be behind in history.

*sigh*

I also figured out that magic is my native language! Well, old native language. Japanese. It also seems that this language is a mixture of French, Grecian, and Italian. It's really weird.

Anyway, we got word yesterday that the tutor was arriving early. 2 weeks early to be exact. To be even more exact, right now.

"Off to my room I go!"I say talking to myself. It's kinda weird, but I've been talking to myself a lot lately.

******************

I made it to my room just in time for Mia, who was halfway up the stairs by the time I closed my bedroom door.

"Xavier, your tutor is here." Mia said while opening the door. I have upgraded from my parents room to my own, which is just down the hall.

I got up off my bed and followed Mia down the stairs, to where the tutor is waiting.

My father was already standing in front of him, chatting about politics and how I would be educated.

Suddenly, Mr. Illirea looked up and saw me. He kept gazing at my face while talking to my father.

Why, why did you give me ugly looks Theodore? You are making sure I draw attention! And not in a good way!

I sighed and looked down.

My father turned around and he smiled, "looks like my son has entered the room. I'll leave you guys to it!" He said enthusiastically.

My father left the room and we were alone.

There is one word that can describe this. Awkward.

Completely and utterly awkward.

-Mr. Illirea- *clears throat*

"Um, my name is Jackson, nice to meet you."He says with a grin.

I looked at his hand, looked at his face and then looked at his hand again.

"I'm Xavier. Nice to meet you too." I said while taking his hand in my firm grip.

"Let's get started, shall we?"
