your perspective
when i was younger the life i had always fascinated me how i got home school and didn't have many friends. none that were normal at least.

the year my father died my mother and i moved somewhere in england. i said goodbye to my friends from america and left that life behind. my mother and i moved next door to one of her high school friends. she claims to be good friends with them.

they were nice to us but not others, i couldn't understand why. but they had a boy my age to. his name was draco and we became very good friends.

we continued to be friends when we got accepted into hogwarts conveniently being sorted into slythetin together. we gained a reputation of being best friends.

but i always felt like there was something more. by the time we were in fourth year the moments our fingers brushed when studding, and walking together. i know there was something there.

i suppose he didn't. cause the holiday after forth year when entering into fifth he wasn't the same to me. he didn't smile and laugh when seeing me.

he didn't say more than "didn't see you outside a lot". i didn't feel the butterflies anymore. and as the times went on. the more we drifted. i didn't like it considering we did live next door to each other. i'd see him a lot anyway.

draco became more interested in other girls and mocking people than being best friends with me still. i can't fully say i got over it. you couldn't really blame me. i found better friends and i still remained talking to most of the people in slytherin.

but the later that winter really put me on edge...

third pov
y/n walked into the slytherin common room after a tiring day. when ribbons upon ribbons filled the air and cheers of people did to. they threw a birthday party for her. smiling briefly she looked around the room then frowning when not seeing draco.

little did she know across the room draco was staring at her looking into the palms of his hands disappointed.
"did i really forget her birthday."

he turned to her considering going over and wishing her one before turning away and going into her dorm. she stood standing staring at the back of his head as he walked away. tears threatened to fall from her eyes yet she stayed strong.

they truly drifted...
