They used their technology to go through each person's profile to find their perfect match. People didn't need to sign up. It was an automatic system that would go through someone's profile once they turn 18.
The system determined what age someone should get married and who they should marry. Cupids are agents who get sent out and they shoot the person with a love dart to tell them who to love.
Jackson was a Cupid who messed up a little. Instead of shooting Chanmi, he accidentally shot her fiancé's ex-girlfriend who happened to be at the train station near the pair.
The two were now getting married in a month, while Chanmi would be trying to murder Jackson. Chanmi was beyond furious. Her fiance's ex-girlfriend wasn't even a likable or nice person. She was a conniving person who only cared about herself—and apparently her new husband.
