~Before I show the pictures, here is a bit of backstory~
The diorama depicts the Battle of the Bulge, specifically the Battle of St. Vith. St. Vith was one of the vital crossroads the Germans tried to capture throughout the battle. The units tasked with capturing the town was the 5th Panzer Armee on the right flank of the German advance towards Antwerp. The American defenders were the U.S. VIII Corps, led by the 7th Armored Division and included the remainder of the 106th Infantry Division, the 424th Infantry Regiment under the command of General Robert W. Hasbrouck and Alan W. Jones whom were successful in defending against many German attacks. However St. Vith was given up under the orders of Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and the American units defending the town were told to fall back to positions supported by the 82nd Airborne which posed as a difficult obstacle for the Germans in their advance. The Germans captured the town on December 23rd, 1944, 6 days after they were called to capture it.
AN: the big thing of stuffing out in the open is supposed to be smoke from a German smoke grenade for cover. This was made for my local 2018 county fair. I hope it gets a decent score.

Book of Scale Models
Narrativa StoricaI figured I would post some of my models/dioramas in this book. Most are in 1/72nd scale and maybe a few will b in 1/35th and 1/48th scale. Most will be of WWII and occasionally the Korean War but I might do some from modern day and Vietnam.
