Another diorama I made for last year's contest. This time, if you couldn't tell, is about the battle of Bloody Gulch. Like the last diorama, I will give a bit of backstory~
It depicts The Battle of Bloody Gulch. It was fought on June 13th, 1944. The U.S. 101st Airborne, 2nd Armored Division, and 29th Infantry Division were defending the outskirts of Carentan at Manoir de Donville or Hill 30. The Germans trying to take back Carentan were the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division and the 6th Fallschrimjäger Regimant. The town was vital to keep for the U.S. because it was a link between Utah and Omaha Beach. The Germans needed to take it back because it would be the first major step at driving the Allies out of France. At dawn, the Germans began the attack on the US defenders. Around 10:30 AM, the paratroopers holding the first line of defense were forced to pull back as the Germans attacked with their armor. After sustaining heavy losses on both sides, the US 2nd Armored Division forced the attacker to withdraw around 4:30 PM. It was a US victory with the casualties adding up to 32 dead and 73 wounded Americans and 43 dead, 89 wounded, and 1 tank destroyed on the German side.

Book of Scale Models
Historical FictionI figured I would post some of my models/dioramas in this book. Most are in 1/72nd scale and maybe a few will b in 1/35th and 1/48th scale. Most will be of WWII and occasionally the Korean War but I might do some from modern day and Vietnam.
