I’d always been worried about lacrosse games, they seemed so aggressive. But at least it wasn’t as dangerous as football. Our school was up 13-2, which obviously was good. According to everyone else, I was here to watch with my friends. But personally, I was here to watch Xukun. I loved watching him play. Xukun took off down the field and got ready to catch the ball, but just as he lifted his stick up, someone from the other team accidentally hit Xukun in the chest, knocking him down so he fell funny on his ankle. The game continued, but Xukun was on the ground, not moving. The game stopped and everyone gasped, realizing he was still on the ground.

“XUKUN!” I shouted, running down the stands and onto the field.

“You can’t go out-” their coach started saying.

“I’m a trainer’s assistant” I shouted, running to Xukun. It wasn’t a lie, I was currently a trainers assistant, but I wasn’t on the job today. “Hey, hey look at me” I pulled off his helmet and turned his head. Tears were running down his face, which broke my heart. Xukun was key to the attacking lineup on our school’s team. The coach hurried over with the head trainer, and I was pushed aside.

“Let’s get an ambulance, he needs to be checked out. Coach why don’t you call one, and Ash help me get him off the field” the trainer instructed. Coach and I nodded, following his instructions. The trainer and I lifted Xukun off the ground, and he put his arms around us and we helped him hop off the field. Everyone in the crowd and on the other team cheered and clapped for him. Once we were on the sideline, we set him down in a chair and immediately put ice on his ankle.

“Hey, what happened?” I asked softly.

“I don’t know, I was going up to get the ball, and then I was landing on my ankle. It’s all a blur” he sniffled.

“Hey, you’re gonna be fine, alright? You’re going to the hospital to check everything out but you made a hat trick this game, be proud of that. Alright?” I frowned. Xukun nodded and made faces of pain. A couple minutes later the ambulance arrived and Xukun was driven away.

“I’m gonna go” I said to the coach and left, hurrying to the hospital. Once I was there, I found out he was having x-rays done, but I could wait in the room he would be put in to wait. About an hour later, Xukun was brought into the room and laid in the bed. They gave him so painkiller and let him rest.

“Hey” Xukun weakly smiled.

“Hi” I moved my chair close to the bed. “How ya feeling?” I asked playing with his hand.

“Well, I could be worse”

“That is true. Doctors say anything yet?”

“Nope. I’ll find out soon enough though” he sighed.

“Well, if it counts for anything, you killed it on the field”

“Yeah a hat trick isn’t bad I guess” he lightly laughed. “Thank you for being here, you didn’t have to leave the game”

“I wasn’t gonna let you sit here in this dingy place alone. Plus you’re the only person I’m friends with on the team” I admitted, which earned a laugh from Xukun.

“Wait, so you’ve been going to the games for me?” he asked. Before I could say anything, the doctor walked in.

“Alright Cai Xukun, bad news. You broke your fibula. The good thing is that it’s stable, so you won’t need any surgery as long as you keep a boot on. If you don’t want the boot, we’ll have to do surgery. But, either way you’re done for the season. Are your parents here?” he looked around the room.

“No, they’re out of state right now, but my brother is on his way. So what happens if I take the boot?”

“Well, you’re not going to have surgery if you take the boot. You will however have to regularly see a physician for x-rays. If you put weight on it, it may become unstable, and if that happens we’ll see it in the x-ray, and that’ll mean surgery. So you’ll be on crutches, there can be zero use of that ankle.” the doctor explained.

“I’ll take the boot” he grinned.

“Great, a nurse will be here soon to discharge you. Just have your brother go to reception with your insurance information and then you’ll be ready to go.” the doctor left.

“I’m sorry” I frowned.

“No it’s okay. Atleast if I play in college, I’ll be healed by then” he looked at his ankle.

“And, I can call you three legs” I winked.

“3 legs?” he gave me a funny look.

“2 crutches, and one working leg” I explained.

“I hate you” he grumbled.

“Okay, bye then!” I pretended to leave.

“No come back” he whined. I giggled and went back into the room. A few minutes later a nurse and Xukun’s brother Xiumin came into the room. They filled out all the discharge paperwork, got the boot on Xukun and got him crutches, and then we were on our way.

“Your girlfriend giving you a ride home?” Xiumin asked.

“Yeah” he nodded and crutched towards my car.

“You didn’t correct him” I quietly said.

“Correct what?” he innocently smiled.

“He called me your girlfriend” I sighed. I wanted that to be true, but I knew it wasn’t.

“But you basically are” Xukun stopped and looked at me, with his eyes struggling to stay open due to the sun.

“What?” I froze.

“Ash, you came and stayed with me at a hospital. You go to the lacrosse games even though I’m your only friend on the team. I put two and two together.” Xukun gave me a silly grin.

“So you know” I sighed, as we started moving again towards my car.

“Yeah, but you don’t know something”

“And what don’t I know?” we reached my car. I opened the door and helped him in, and then went to the drivers seat and got in.

“That I feel the same” he admitted after putting on his seatbelt.

“What?” I turned and looked at him.

“I like you too” he ran a hand through his hair.

“You’re joking” I shook my head and put the key in the ignition.

“If I was, I wouldn’t have let me brother believe you’re my girlfriend. Let’s not let what I said be a lie” he placed a hand on mine.

“I think it’s better it was a truth” I made eye contact with Xukun. He leaned over a little, and our lips locked. It almost seemed as if our lips were made just for each other - the way they fit perfectly, it was mesmerizing.

“Yeah you’re definitely my girlfriend” Xukun chuckled and kissed my forehead.

Oh my godddd!!!! I was listening to EXO's Moonlight when i wrote this! It hit the feelings on my gutt lol xD
