Okay, Cinder is a fire-elemental monster, whatever emotion he feels his flame grows. Like if he feels negative emotions like, sadness or nervousness- and if he feels flustered or happy his flame grows, stuff like that.
His fire isn't necessarily hot, but it can get hotter. Like as in, flaming hot.

Anyway, Papyrus and Cinder had somewhat of a "Friends with Benefits" relationship. But Cinder wanted more, so eventually, he left and avoided him for a long time, about a year.
