The ceremony was to take place tonight which was the same day Alpha Jones had told Marc he would be given the alpha position. 

Everyone in the pack was bustling and buzzing with excitement. 

Apparently, the ritual goes as follows. 

Alpha Jones steps up in front of the crowd and he gives a speech regarding his time as alpha. 

Then Marc would step up and stand next to Alpha Jones and he would resign his position as alpha. 

Once that was done, Marc would take an oath an become alpha. 

Up to this was something I was very happy and excited about. What I wasn't excited about was the fact that I would be given the luna position. 

Don't get me wrong, I would love to become Luna and I know I feel one hundred percent ready to help Marc in leading the hundreds of people in the pack. 

But at the same time, it was exactly two days before the planned attack and once the ceremony was over, everyone would go to sleep and it would become exactly one day before the expected attack. 

Since Marc and I completed the mating process, our ability to share the emotions each of us felt got stronger. 

Sometimes there were perks, but sometimes it was definitely better not to share those emotions. 

Like now when I am having a panick attack about the ceremony. 

I was currently pacing around my room with Maria sitting on the ledge next to our huge window. 

She was staring at me in full amusement as I paced back and forth, talking to myself. 

Marc was in Alpha Jones' office with John who would be assigned beta tonight as well. 

"It's okay, Alex. We are meant for this position, and besides you have Marc by your side." I reached the end of my bedroom and turned on my heels to pace the other way. 

"But then what if I trip and fall and I end up embarrassing myself in front of everyone?" I shook my head. 

"It's right before the attack, what if the people don't see me as a fit Luna?" Then I stopped in my pacing and stared in horror. 

"What if they see Natalia as a better fit for the luna position?" I started laughing bitterly.

"No way am I going to let that girl take my position." I turned again. 

"But she is-" Right then, Maria knocked straight into me and I ended up getting flung onto my bed. 

She stood while leaning onto her left leg as she placed her hands on her hips. 

"Alex, you and Marc freaking completed the mating process, your marks are more evident, and the whole house basically heard it. Why are you denying yourself?"
