Chapter 9: Interrogations and Revelations

I woke up ready to start the day. Actually, I woke up because Lapis was poking me in the head. Again. 

"what?" I growled out. 

"Get up. We need to go interrogate Ren and Jaune. I looked over at the clock. 

"It's five-thirty! They're still asleep." 

"Exactly. They'll never expect it." I growled, low and deep. 

"Yeah, yeah. C'mon fur rug." I growled again, but got out of bed. I threw on a pair of shorts and followed Lapis out of the room. 

"Put on a shirt." 

"No. you dragged me out of bed at five-thirty in the morning. You're lucky I put on pants." I rumbled. 

We walked to JNPR's room. I was about to knock when Lapis opened the door and barged in. 

"WAKEY-WAKEY!" she yelled. I sighed. 

Nora jumped out of bed ready for a fight. Unfortunately, she was also tangled up in her sheets and instead crashed into the floor. 

Jaune screamed and fell out of his bed. 

Ren jumped out of bed and swung a punch at Lapis, who blocked it with her semblance shield. 

Pyrrha was nowhere to be found. 

"Calm down. We're just here to talk." 

"Its too early to talk!" Nora said, still on the floor. 

"Not to you. Just the guys." 

"Oh okay." She said and, I swear to the gods, fell back asleep. 

I went over and grabbed Jaune by one of his feet and lifted him up. 

"Hey what are you doing?" 

"Did you send Carli flowers?" Lapis asked. 

"What? No!" 

"Ox, shake him a bit." 

"I'm not shaking him." 

"Why not?" 

"He gets nauseous easily and I don't want to clean vomit out of my fur." 

"What is going on here?" asked Pyrrha, who walked back into the room. 

"Someone anonymously gave Carli flowers and we're trying to figure out who it is." Lapis said. 

"Is that why Jaune's upside down?" 

"Yep." 

"Ox, could you please put him down?" Pyrrha asked. 

I shrugged and dropped him. 

"ow..." He moaned. 

"Not what I meant!" Pyrrha said, rushing over to check on him. I shrugged again. 

Ren walked over. "I didn't send Carli any flowers." I nodded. 

I didn't think Ren had eyes for anyone. I reached over and grabbed Lapis. 

"Sorry to bother you guys. We'll leave now." I said, still groggy. 

I dragged Lapis out of the room and back to ours. 

"Well that was a bust." She said. Lazuli and Carli were awake now. 

"Jaune and Ren are clear." 

 "You guys seriously interrogated them?" Carli asked, shocked. 

"Lapis did. I just wanted the head-poking to stop." I grumbled.
