The beautiful starry nighttime sky, came over the fair city of New York, like a giant heavenly blanket.

Asides from the last few civilians leaving late-night closing business facilities, and a few cars passing by, the city was fairly quiet.

This was perfectly okay, at least, for young Hamato Donatello. He just felt the strong need, to take a break from both his lab work, and his other brothers, for a while. In fact, they all did.

Things haven't really been all that easy, ever since the boys's father, Hamato Yoshi, had died about five years ago. All at the hands of his own brother, by bond, Oroku Saki.

But even the Shredder was long gone, with his mutant pawns also eventually out of the picture, as well. But still, who was even definite to say, that at least one of them had already taken over their former Master's place?

Especially considering of the fact, of how Hamato Miwa, Karai, has tried to rebuild the Foot Clan already, before uniting herself with her rightful family.

"Now, who'd had ever thought," Donnie then began to say to himself, looking up towards the sky above him, "that ever since Sensei let us leave for the surface on our fifteenth 'Mutation Day', everything has just changed so much? Like a huge, sort of domino effect, for me and my brothers, the rest of my family, and all of the friends and allies, we've proudly gotten to know over the past few years."

Still looking up at the sky above him, Donnie saw large, dark clouds come into view & felt the pellet-like raindrops landing on his olive green, reptilian skin.

After the first few droplets fell on top of his outstretched hand, Donnie decided that he might as well start heading back home. Besides, Leonardo was most likely finished meditating in their dojo, Raphael was probably heading back from bashing a few punks's heads, and Michelangelo could also be skateboarding back home from the skate park, right about now.

So, after taking a deep breath, Donatello began to brave the journey back home.

However, just after jumping across a few rooftops, something caught his attention from the corner of his eye;

He saw a figure locking the front doors, that led into what looked like, a public library. Upon a closer look at said figure, Donnie confirmed it to be, a girl about his own age. Her hair was up in a high bun, and her glasses and papers were being painted by 'heavenly' water droplets, now like bullets.

She also appeared to be both frantic and frustrated, since it looked like she didn't have an umbrella on her. Just a long trench coat-like garment, with a sweater hood, to cover her hair and head, underneath.

Then after gathering up all of her things, she began to run all the way, back towards her apartment.

As she ran, she didn't seem to notice of the moving car coming right towards her, as she hurried her way across the road. But Donatello definitely did.

As quickly as he could, he got his grappling hook out, and launched it towards the running girl's direction, before he leapt off of the edge, and swung his way towards her.

Then just when the car was about to ram itself into the metaphorically blind young woman, Donatello has reached out his arm, and wrapped it around her waist, and saved her just in time, Tarzan-style.

"Gotcha!", he cried out, as he saved her.

The girl seemed to be confused by what was happening right now, and was looking all around her until she looked up towards the darkened face of her mysterious savior.

She wondered of who it could be, even after Donnie placed her down gently at the mouth of an alleyway, coincidentally right next to her apartment building.

"Are you alright, Miss?" Donatello asked the girl, as she seemed to be trying to gather herself up together. As she did so, she met Donnie's mocha-coloured irises, with her own dark blue eyes.

However, Donnie quickly noticed, they weren't a deep blue, like his brother Leonardo's. They were more like the type of dark blue, that could easily be mistaken for dark green, or even grey. Nonetheless, Donatello found himself to be lost in her eyes. But only until the girl snapped him back into reality, when she replied with, "Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you."

Donnie smiled at her, even though she wasn't able to see him clearly, through the thick darkness and rain, "You're welcome Miss. I'm just glad that I was able to help you out in time."

The girl smiled up at him back, saying, "Yeah, me too." She then asked him, full of worried concern, "But, aren't you getting cold, or something?"

Donnie tried to dismiss it, shaking his head, and also his hands in front of her, "Oh, no, no. It's fine, really. I was just about to head back home, anyways."

It was then the girl's turn, to shake her head, "Not until I make sure that you're all dry and warm, once the storm breaks. Now come on."

Then without another word, and also despite Donatello's desperate protests, the girl took his hand firmly in her own, and she dragged Donnie towards her apartment.

Hey guys, Popstar Queen here!

So, here's the prologue for the Donnie x Rebecca Mystery Story, that I've mentioning a lot lately, and I hope that you all like it so far!

Also, I'll try to actually take my time with uploading chapters for this story, to better ensure that 1) the draft is all good to go (and not cringey for the good copy ;p) and 2) it doesn't have to become all overwhelming, in terms of my semester of more co-op/dual credit, like I did last year. As well as, my extra-curriculars!

And another thing, probably by the time that I upload half/over half of my story up here, before I start to work on my next project, thanks to my survey (on Quotev); https://www.quotev.com/quiz/11267693/What-Should-I-Work-On

And so far, it looks promising. But then again, only time will tell hat happens with it! ;)

Anyways, I'll keep on working on this, and I hope for you all to forward to more updates on this, soon!

And as always, see you all soon, and happy reading!

;)
