The land of Hyrule was once blessed with warmth and light, however all that was taken away with the dropping of a simple sword. The Princess Zelda surrendered to The King of shadows, Zant. Almost instantaneously the world was shrouded in the bitter cold of twilight, Hylians and all races a kin were turned into spirits, blissfully unaware of their current ghastly forms. Curiously enough you did not transform into a spirit nor a ghost, you remained the same. The first thing you wished to do was to storm into the castle, you had no idea why everyone around you had disappeared and in their places stood a gleaming blue light. Of course you had to escape the grasp of many monsters and puzzle but you finally made it to the castle.
