"Two" He carried on as he tightened his helmet straps
"One!"You sped off before him
"NO FAIR!"Mike yelped as sped after you
You pedalled faster on the footpath avoiding people narrowly as Mile sped through the longer but distraction less road not too far from the city centre. Pedal faster. You sped through the street, screaming and beeping horns blaring behind you as you laughed childishly, slamming on the handles break at the finish line, flying over the handles into the green grass meters away.
"I WON!"You screamed as Mike slid easily over the line
"What was the wager again?"Mike grinned goofily, pretending to have forgotten
"Come over and spit it out homeschool"You joked as he walked over to the grass
"My biggest secret- is that I like you"
Your cheeks flared as you looked at your bike pulling together your senses.
"If you beat me to school you can be my partner-"
He ran, you ran, feet on pedals as you let him get ahead. Losing deliberately.
