the coffee shop is almost empty now,

maybe because it's friday

i just sat in the counter,

reading a comic book gerard told me to read

"can i have an espresso please?

amazing choice of books, by the way"

i looked up and saw gerard

i smiled at him

"thank you sir, can you wait for five minutes for your order?"

"i'm fine with waiting"

i prepared his coffee

i handed him his coffee and he paid for it

"mind joining me?" he asked

"absolutely not," i said

i get my own coffee and sat to the table with him

he just waited there until my shift ended,

then we walked home together
